Default Corvette on a budget

Ok, it all started back in 2014 with a 92 C4 , I was feeling bumbed out about some things that just happened and needed an EGO BOOST.. next thing ya know I was looking for something that would be fun and wouldn't break the bank, so wound up with a very nice 92 C4..well that went on for couple yrs and diffrent things started happening so I wound up selling it " but was regretful!

couple yrs past and I saw a nice shiny red 95 C4 in a showroom, with 84K on the clock, THE HOOK WAS IN!!! one year went by as I was driving the tranny sounded funny, long story short>>>>>>>>>>the tranny died! so had to be towed 86 miles back home then to a tranny shop, $2500 later were back on the road and with a smaller bank acct.

So its now 2019 and here I am looking at C5 ads......but am also looking at something "practicle " that are basically worry free. "if thier is such a thing, or should I say
more cost effective to repair....however I still drull when ever that vette come down the road

Skip the C5! There are tons of C4 guys in here and they will tell you all the tips and tricks to keep in running like the day it was new. Fact is, all the cool kids in here have C4's!

But C5s are about 30%-40% less, and are more reliable than the C4s. If you get a C5, just get a 2001 or newer. While almost identical to the earlier ones, they have most of the upgrades. If you liked driving a C4, you'll most likely love the C5s. Noticeably more power better handling, and despite what some here will say, more reliable, noticeably. That said, the newest C5 is 15 years old, and geriatric problems cause most of the problems.

Must not be mine. Starts and runs, it struggles with shifting.

What kind of trailer park were you living in that a C4 gave you an ego boost.

The C5 is a very good car - and prices are extremely reasonable for what you get. I had four C4s and three C5s and the C5s were a better car.

C7s used can now be had in the low $30Ks. Best Corvette for the money is a used C7......Get on the Internet and gotcha one.
