Where in the keys? If youíve already been there a bunch of times maybe try something different. I would vote for St. John over both. Also love Grand Cayman and Aruba. The long flight thing would kill Cabo for me.

in the 90s a friend had his sportfisher docked there in key west. I would go and live on it for 4-6 weeks at a time. I have been going back to key west and Islamorada ever since.
ive been to both grand cayman and aruba. tried to pull a natalie there in aruba, but made it back. it was nice, great weather, casinos etc, but I never really got the chill feeling like I do in the keys. I do like that one joint on the beach that you walk out over the water. boogalooos or something like that. the flight thing is a major plus to key west. I can grab first class tix for under a thousand bucks, leave here at six am and be at louies by noon.

I was in Cabo last month. Cabo is just South Los Angeles with less Mexicans. It's very safe and lots of money there. If you are into sealife, Cabo is great. Sea lions, Rays, Whales, etc... you'll see any time you look at the ocean. Food there is excellent. Prices are all over the place depending on your tastes. Best thing about Cabo is there are no bugs. Can't say the same for the Keys as it is in a swamp. From the East Coast, we flew from Washington DC @ 7 AM through Phoenix and got to Cabo @ 2 PM their time, or 5 PM local. So it's a full day travel. Keys of course, a 6 hour drive from Ft. Lauderdale airport. So full day as well.
If passports are a concern, I'd Air BtoB St. Thomas. 4 hours from the East Coast to toes in sand. Warm exotic, and less than a day's travel.

that is one of my concerns. I dislike traveling that long, especially if only doing short stints. lately I have been doing six days multiple times per year, as opposed to say one long ten day deal. I can grab a flight out of philly at 6 am or so, fly through charlotte and land in key west by 1115 am, grab a cocktail at the airport and be at louis or salute before noon.

Those 6 AM flights are killers. Up at 3:30 AM.

I own a construction company and am up at four most days anyway. If you pack bags In the truck the night before, its a thirty five minute ride to the airport, park and in the terminal by 5 or so. No line at security, checked in electronically the day before its a breeze. Usually still have time for a drink or two at the bar.

Going down to the keys in September. Will probably rent a center console and a houseboat in Islamorada.

Thanks for the info! We are not into the bar scene. BTDT with the Duvall Crawl! Haha

We like to stay somewhere in the middle and go down to Key West for the day for lunch. There is just nowhere to park down there!! You enjoy yourself as well!

Sounds like you already know your decision. If you havenít done it yet, take the day trip on the seaplane to the Dry Tortugas.

I vote Keys.

Venture around and look for out of the way areas.

I delivered to 6900 front street not to long ago. Interesting area.

I think I saw your car there.
