Begged and begged my GF to purchase the extended FACTORY warranty & maintenance plan on her 2011 X3 turbo before the 5 year ran out.

She waited a week too long and it ran out. They wouldn't sell it to her.

You know how it goes. $500 for a tail light MODULE.

$1700 for a brake job.

$1200 for a leaking oil filter mount & minor service

When a second tail light went out I told her "You're selling the car or we're breaking up."

Got $9000 for a $55,000 car. Great car, but nobody can afford those sorts of bills or depreciation.

BMW = "Bring More Wallet"
2008 Audi S6.

Intake manifold replacement @ $7500.00

Never again and that was under warranty. I sold that car right before the warranty ran out.

Wanna hear sumthin' Wild ?

If ya bought a non-luxury Jeep Wranger for half the price new of most of those on the list....

For Example: Basic 2 dr Jeep Wrangler new at $25,000

AND 4 years later, want to upgrade to.. oh say... to a same year and milage Audi Q5 that stickered at $50,0000

You can swap straight up :yesnod: today -

AND gain:
A supercharged 3.0 vs the Pentastar V6
Leather Power Seats
Panoramic Power Moon Roof vs. Manual Zip out Vinyl Windowed Soft Top
Power Windows and Locks vs. Manual in the Wrangler
2 more doors
a power lift gate
19" wheels vs. 17"
3 more speeds in the Transmission dept.
A WiFi Infotainment system vs a Radio with Aux. Jack
on and on...

Wild - the Wrangler - albeit not luxurious - holds it value twice as good as any on the list

WTF Panamera? You are holding back Zuffenhausen’s sweep! Top of the list is nearly Porsche’s entire lineup, except for the Panamera.

Ok I’m going to set myself up for so raspberries but that’s ok.....

Canadian Rockies at the ice fields

El capitian

This is is my suv. It’s a 13 Ford Flex. I bought it used in 13. Sticker was 50k I gave 28. I won’t tow but I can get more crap in it then any of those boys listed above. The pictures are of our trip out west last year. 8000 miles 23 mpg thru the mountains and all.

I’ve been shopping for another suv and there is nothing more practical then this ugly box. Seats 7 has many nice features very reliable. Today 100k miles 6 years old it’s worth 12k on a trade. 16k in depreciation for 6 years.

My financial guy was talking bmw. I told him if I gave him $100k and he turned it into $10k in 5 or 6 years I’d not be too happy.

New luxury cars are foolish.

Now the kicker when Ford is going to all suvs, guess which model is going to be discontinued? Yep! No updates last few years

Too bad

We didnt buy our 2016 SQ5 to be able to tow anything, if I want to tow thats what my 2016 Sierra 6.2 is made for. We bought the SQ5 because it had some of the lowest depreciation out there and a solid track record. With minimal mods it has around 450hp and scoots along nicely, and the wife is happy which is all that matters to me.

Isn't that backwards? I thought you're supposed to buy a low-depreciation vehicle new and a high-depreciation vehicle used.
