Sounds like fun to me! I've never done an actual NAPCAR race.

Should we run 45 minutes and have the yellow flags on?

yes on both 45 minutes and yellows.
the yellows are needed to let wreckers rejoin the pack.
and the extra time is needed to make up for the lost time with yellows.

dont forget FIXED tune!

Since tonight's race is 45 minutes, the session starts at 8:15pm eastern time. 60 minutes practice, 10 minutes - 4 laps lone qualifying, and 45 minute race. Note: this does cause the race to start 5 minutes early.

well that brought back memories from last year

i just kept getting caught in everyones mess. i did cause one of them.
me driving "straight" notice wheels and roof damage too.

a few things learned for next time:

*it was mentioned by one of the oval pros we were running the wrong tune. we needed the 2011 tune version he said. said its much more stable. may not be available on free truck?
* if not we just need to adjust the tune for max rear downforce or something. and make that the fixed tune.
* lets turn damage off.
* i would also be game for something more stuck to the track like the suggested caddy. or C7DP, vette, free v8 supercar etc.

the draft was SO much fun. but in a full pack we could only get 1-2 laps of green before a wreck. that kinda ruined it.

One wreck was partially my fault. After a restart I got a good run on Buckshot in first and ran down the inside of him down the back straight, not knowing that going "under" the double yellow line was a no-no. I cleared Buckshot before T3 and when I went to get back in the racing line another truck had passed Buckshot on the outside and moved down to the inside and at that point my ill-advised pass on the inside turned into no where to go as the banking of T3 approached. This caused the trucks behind me to check up and led to the biggest accident of the night.

Sorry guys.

Overall, it was a fun race. We did spend a lot of time under yellow though. I think that is more inexperience with oval racing than anything else.
Tormania, I made a pretty stupid move going through the middle 3 wide once too. The only difference was, I got away with it.
I need suggestions for the remainder of the season. I wouldn't mind trying an oval again.

I surprisingly had a really good time and can't complain about a podium. I never progressed in my oval license because those short ovals and circles just suck.

Someone mentioned Indy cars around an oval, we could do Indy car and Indianapolis? I like the newest indy car the best, but perhaps not everybody has it.

My experience with the IndyCars is aero-push is a very big deal and they can get to be very oversteery on exit of turn 2 towards the end of a fuel run. Other than that they are fun. Obviously without fenders and bumpers the racing is a little different than last night.
