You get status quo American guys afraid to go above the speed limit in a high performance car, you get a lot of deaths.

So why is the insurance so low? Because they don't need to make a payout to dead people?

Nope I drove my Z06 in heavy rain on a trip and had no problems whatsoever doing 70 mph. She stuck to the road like it was dry.

Cars are a lot like guns, Necessary operator head space is required for each.

Heres a factor to consider. GM designed the car to be mild under normal driving conditions and wild under others.

So so you can drive it like an old lady and it drives like a car. But get on it, and even a base model is a beast. Inexperienced drivers get fooled into a sense of pedestrian handling and think they are driving a passemger car.

They get clever, turn off the traction control, set to Competitive Driving Mode and stomp on it. Next thing they know, they are having a latte with Jesus.

And there, my Dear Watson, the mystery is solved.

Take off all nannies period inc making the TB too smart and let Darwin do his job
These devices give drivers false confidence. Ok maybe if you get snow or ice traction control I see no need for the rest of it
Cant tell you are about to drift into the next lane, wake up earlier. Noone needs an infotainment anything.

Touchscreens take more attention than reaching for that all too familiar button. Even a tach is a distraction who needs one? (mines coming off and getting sold)
