It was the first nice day of spring and the top was down. A motorcycle cop with a radar gun on a freeway overpass got me at 107 mph on the on ramp to the raised freeway. My redhead wife was yelling at me for getting caught while the officer checked my license, registration, and insurance. He let me go with a warning. My wife asked why he didn't give me a ticket since he had me on radar. I told her he felt sorry for me having to go home with her.

"Exhibition of [Speed | Acceleration]" is a charge - it can basically mean anything the cop wants it to mean.

That said, I probably violate that one every single day.

You might act like a retarded pre-teen, but you certainly don't look younger than your age.

I'm pretty sure I do something 'illegal' every time I start the car. If I should miss an opportunity, I'll make up for it the next day when I do 2 illegal things.

Sort of busted. I drifted a corner by the Manteo Courthouse which doubled as the police station late one night... Cop pulled up behind me just as I stopped in front of a bar on the next block and shut down. Basically the same conversation you had with the same result. I agreed with everything he said including having a wild hair up my *** and he let me go after telling me to keep the wild driving outside of town. It was a good lesson for an 18 year old to learn.

Got a warning once.

I was in a modded camaro and i was at a light with a little strip mall to the right. I revved a few times and then dumped the clutch for about 10 feet then saw him coming out of the liquor store... clutch in instantly and off the gas... about 3 blocks up he pulled me over and just gave me a warning letting me know the consequences of exhibition of speed. I was 18 or 19 at the time. I was soooo damn lucky.

Once. Part time cop in a very small town in western Kansas.I was 15, on a restricted license, and spun my tires (showing off, truefully) on buffalo grass, in a vacant lot next a friends house. Long story, but the judge threw the ticket out. Cop would have been smarter if he had written me up for driving outside the hours allowed on the restricted license. He was pissed that the judge threw the ticket out and vowed to get me on something else, so i drove real careful. (for a while)

When I was 20, I got pulled over by a cop because I quickly accelerated from a red light in my 70's muscle car. He gave me a hard time, then after listening to him running his mouth, he still gave me a ticket for acceleration, but no listed speed. I was pissed after getting the ticket, so I chirped the tires as I quickly took off. I was less than a mile down the street when I hear a helicopter. The next thing I know I have 4-5 cop cars coming at me from the front and rear like I had robbed a bank. The fat cop who gave me the the ticket came up to me huffing and puffing like he had chased me on foot. I thought they were going to pull out of the car and cuff me, but he just gave me a 2nd ticket similar to the first one, then let me go. I left going 20 mph. I go to traffic court with the two tickets and after the Judge looked at them, he dismissed them both. The fat cop was pissed. I looked at him and laughed as I walked passed.

Wife got it back in 1990 in my heavily modded Grand National. The ticket read "display of speed". She took it to court and tried to fight it, the cop told the judge he saw smoke come from the tires and that was that. Judge banged his gavel and said, "Pay the bailiff." I don't remember the fine as being exceptional. This was in Fairfax County, VA.

Yes. I was turning left in an intersection in my 90 Mustang Notchback and even though stopped waiting for traffic to clear I ended up going through it sideways in an attempt to catch up and streetrace the car in front of me. There was a cop about 3 cars back to my right in stopped traffic. He pulled me over and read me the riot act. He called me by my full first name, and I told him nobody calls me that other than my mother. I still remember thanking him for letting me go, his name was Francis.

Pic of said car below.

You're failing at reading comprehension. I never said I didn't DO the item in question, I said I wasn't 'busted'. C'mon Spazzy - get with the program!
