I'd like to play that course though, looks like a bit of fun.
Same here. I don't count strokes. I count how many golf ***** I start and end with. If I leave the course with more than I had at the first tee, then I call that a great round.

I play whatever is in the bag, too. Haven't bought a golf ball in........I can't remember how long.

I find more than I lose.

When I lived on a course in CO, I'd toss anything that wasn't a ProV (I can't tell the difference between regular and x) back over the fence onto the course from my yard. We got that many.

Do you know how much time these guys spend dialing in their equipment? They have their clubs down to the yard, and that involves the golf ball they are using. There is no way these guys are changing equipment from week to week based on the course. They may adjust the clubs that are in their bag (the US Open when Phil had 2 drivers in his bag is a great example, or adding in an additional wedge), but those are changes that they are 100% familiar with. "Side spin" on a course with narrow fairways is not something they are concerned about.

They will change the model of the ball sometimes - V1 to V1x for less spin for example. But, normally no.
***** are so advanced today that I even see a difference in performance now.

They really are. I mean, we can still do the drop test and see differences in how high they bounce, and if I'm playing a scramble, I'll use a Top Flite off the tee because it does go further.

I'd say there's nothing like a V for short approaches and chipping, but the differences are pretty minor.

Very few ***** play noticeably poorer. Pinnacle comes to mind. I really think those suck. And non Pro-V Titleist *****......there's a pretty big dropoff from the V. But seems like most all the Callaway and Bridgestones are good, at least for this hack.

I usually hit Callaway Super Softs on holes without water or really deep rough. The soft feel is nice off the clubs and really sweet to putt. Scary holes I pull out the found *****.

I always had better luck with a medium hardness golf ball with the double dimples. Can't drive straight with my driver, but with the 3W off the tee I'm only 10-15yds further back than when I manage to get a straight driver shot.

If your swing speed is over 110, I swear the Bridgestone e7 is the best ball.
