Default Pro golfers, do they adjust their *****?

Beth Page Black seems like a course that players would need less ball spin to stay in the fairway. Do the pro players change ***** for different courses?

Yes. I also read that Phil Mickelson said that it takes him about 6 weeks to get used to a new (brand) ball.

Pro golfers, do they adjust their *****?
Probably when it's hot or their pants get bunched up.

Sirius, I've read a lot of them stick with the same kind of ball and learn how to hit it. They only switch when there's better technology or sponsorships involved from what I've read. Not sure how accurate or true that is, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn one time.

Semi pro here

I just grab whatever's in the bag, it'll end up in the woods or water most of the time anyway.

I'd like to play that course though, looks like a bit of fun.

not sure; but, you'll never see a pro use a ball washer during a televised event, it's embarrassing as heck . . .

I'd be interested to hear if anyone knows, good question. All the ball manufacturers are at every event, and they offer up any kind of ball for players. At the WM event in PHX, near the practice area there's a tent with bags of ***** from every manufacturer, and different types of ball are available. Titleist has Pro V-1 and Pro V1x, for instance.

If I had to guess, they don't change ***** for a particular course layout. Spin is so crucial on approach and short game shots. I can't imagine them giving up the control, solely in hopes of keeping drives in the fairway.

Players can always hit a lower lofted club (less spin) with less swing speed to reduce spin, as well. Generally a windy-condition strategy....hit a soft 5 iron vs a full 6, etc.

But the pros are at a level where they'd probably just adjust swing path/impact to minimize side to side movement of shots. Draw players might steepen their path to hit less of a draw, etc. Cut/fade players might flatten out a little to hit a more straight trajectory.

Really? I'm not doubting it, but someone who plays a Pro V-1 might change to a Pro V-1x just due to course layout?

Never knew that......interesting.

Yep, I know through the grapevine of some PGA pros that they do adjust to some courses with different *****. Usually only 2-3 ***** they're ever willing to try in an event.
