From what I understand if you have the older version it may throw codes in a newer truck. When you order it they’ll send you the most up-to-date version and then notify you if you need to update and they do it for free if you send it to them . I have seen no codes. It says it leaves no trace that it was in your computer, you simply unplug it before you go to the shop.

They ain’t putting me though much. One try is all they get. If the fluid fix doesn’t work all that will do is speed up the inevitable.

Well, of course the fluid properties are VERY important to an automatic transmission. Still, it makes me wonder why this never came up in their testing.

In my opinion if all it takes is a fluid flush, that is a very good thing. No need to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Still glad I got the 6-speed...

The fluid flush will absolutely fix the issue. At least it did on our Camaro.
The problem is, it is likely to come back again after several thousand miles.

I like the range thing. It makes the throttle feel better if nothing else.
Yes, the Range works great. Have one on the Camaro and Silverado. Much better driving experience.

The latest version will be fine. I've had one plugged into our '17 Camaro now for about 7 months. No codes, no issues.
The one for my Silverado has been plugged in for about 3 years now. 2012 model, so older version. I wouldn't use that same version on the new cars.

Since it does not "write" anything to the ECM, it should have no affect on warranty.
Of course, it would be a good idea to unplug it, if going in for any service.

Always buy directly from Range, and not get one from Ebay or similar.
If purchased directly from them, they will support you with any updates or other issues that might pop up.

Got it back and there is zero transmission shutter. Actually damn smooth.
I hope it stays that way.
