Default huntsville alabama

Anne ahs to go to Vegas for work in august and I was thinking maybe i'll go to huntsville. there is a nasa /space center there I want to visit IIRC there are some apollo ships and other early nammed capsules there. thing is, that won't take much more than a few hours I suspect. what else is there to do in Huntsville?

They have phenomenal German restaurants as they brought all the smart ***** there after WWII.. I am not joking.. Probably best German food outside of Germany! (Otherwise my Digium boys are there and that is the reason I go there as I am an investor in Asterisk/Digium)

Just got back from there. Southeast side of town is really nice (hills etc).

Take 431 South toward Guntersville. Make a LEFT on 79 and head toward Scottsboro. Make a right and cross over the Veterans Drive Bridge.

Make a right onto 35 and follow that to Weathington Park just about a mile before a town called Section. A very high scenic (panoramic) GORGEOUS VIEW overlooking that enomous lake and a very nice ride along the whole way. Was well worth it for me!!

Just went to yellowhammer. Wood fired stone oven! I am stationed in Montgomery and really enjoyed Huntsville. It is unlike the rest of Alabama.

sounds like a hillbilly dump. Bunch of mom and pop shops pick up trucks everywhere and they park slanted. Everyone christian and square dancing on weekends. No thanks. Do they even have an airport?

About 20 years ago, I drove my Fiero down to Huntsville to have Ed Parks (The Fiero Factory) swap out the Iron Duke 4-banger for a 3.4 V6. I don't know if he's still there, but it's interesting to see the shop and the couple hundred Fieros in various conditions lying around on the property.

It is a very scenic drive. Those bluffs up near Guntersville and Scottsboro are gorgeous. I think that area in particular is why the state is called Alabama the beautiful!

It is no dump, quite the contrary. It is also full of very smart people, rocket scientists. They also have an international airport!

It'll take more than just a few hours to see the Space & Rocket Center, especially if you take the bus tour.
If you go to Guntersville, be sure to eat at "The Top O The River".

Not even close...

The Top Cities For Engineers
At the top of the list is "The Rocket City" Huntsville, Alabama. The city is home to a NASA flight center and an Army arsenal, and scores big with the trifecta of a high concentration of engineers, a high average salary of $102,766.07...

some of my family have been there for over 40 years. It has grown up a lot. I was stationed there for AIT in 83 at Redstone Arsenal. I have always enjoyed visiting. The NASA stuff was a pretty cool time. There was a lot to look at there.
