"It's not true what they say about **** sex in prison. It really doesn't hurt that much." - Tommy Chong on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno after being released from federal prison.

One of the funniest things I ever heard.

Most likely he will get 2 to 3 years in prison, then the rest of eternity in a grave after he's killed by another inmate in prison..

Not really.....

Local cops rarely if ever rat out bad cops in their division....

They cover for one another even when they break the law....

Yep

The problem isn't the 1% of bad apples. It's the 99% of otherwise good apples that cover for them.

The difference is, bad customer service at McDonald's and bad customer service from a LEO have two entirely different outcomes. Officers are entrusted with protecting our civil rights and we have little say in who or how it's done. It's an egregious violation of the public trust when they use their position to violate the rights they are sworn to protect. It's a similar dynamic to teacher or parent using their position to take advantage of a child; both situations involved a perpetrator in a position of authority and victim who has no choice in being subject to that authority.

It's even worse yet when that person trusted with protecting people from criminals is himself committing crimes that destroy more lives than 99% of the criminals they arrest on a daily basis.

So are our resident cop apologists still confused as to why a lot of us 2nd class citizens say you should NEVER consent to any search of your person or vehicle regardless of whether or not you have something to hide? Crystal clear yet, kids?

There are guys that I know that have just as many drug busts as this asshat, but they find pounds of cocaine or meth at a single stop. As I said, I have a respect for what they do, but most of the time they are one trick ponies- They have no clue as to how to work up a domestic violence case, or a sexual abuse of a child forensic interview, or how to prepare a search warrant affidavit. 99 per cent of what Cops do doesn't involve stopping people on the highway, but from the amount of bitching that goes on in this forum, you would think that Cops just ride around looking for some hot shot Corvette driver to fu** with. rant over. Every once in a while we actually get to see how someone's life is better because we got the ******* meth addict that was beating up his wife/kids out of the way, or helping an old lady get her money back that some scam artist conned her out of.

Good response, thanks for the info. I'm another "CFOT Cop hater" so I'll ask what I've always wondered... what's the tolerance of guys acting unprofessional in private? In other words, you're at a BBQ with co-workers and Jim is always cracking the racist jokes. Or, you notice that Mike is always talking about wanting to "rough someone up". Do you just move along, or do you run that up the line as a concern?

Knows one hell of a lot of cops over some 40 years in the Wash DC region....and went to countless beer parties with them and many others too, never once heard anything like the above....

With regards to my stances on right v/s wrong and general morality, yes I absolutely do. My rules don't change depending on what company I'm around. If you find that you have to temper yourself in that vein because you're afraid of the consequences around your immediate company, then I'd suggest that maybe you need to look into yourself and try to understand why there is such a gap between the person you are and the person you present to the world.
