I'm sorry, I'm not exactly sure what your job is, but I believe you said it's a government job. If it is, there should be some kind of Union involved and they cannot change your start time without letting you know prior 24 hours in advance. My first thought was taking a picture of it for proof but you said you cannot take a picture of it. Did every day before your boss leaves ask her what time your start time is tomorrow or have it put in writing

Look, grow some nads. Make a spreadsheet for every day, go to the whiteboard and copy down your schedule and have 2 people initial that your copy is correct @ whatever time. Do this everyday. If the times change during your work day, remark the time and have 2 people initial and mark the time. If the schedule changes overnight, then mark that down and have 2 people initial it. Then the next time she tries to ream you over the schedule, go get your papers and go straight to HR. Do not listen to her BS, do not try to engage her over this, only talk to her about this in front of HR. If HR refuses to accept your proof then you need to accept the fact that you are screwed at this job. You might request a transfer, but probably best to leave. Course then with the paper trail you might have grounds to sue for harassment.

So if I understand correctly, on the whiteboard there is your start time and the plant you are to be at the next day. Correct? The whiteboard is in only one location. Correct? How do you know where to go the next day if you are not at the whiteboard plant? Seems like a stupid setup.

Take a hint.
She wants you to help her with some "extra" activity.

The only suggestions I have would be passive aggressive but would work. Leave her a voice mail or slip a note under her office door every evening that says "I'll be here at X am per the white board and sign date/time". Or like other have said get a group together and copy the schedule and sign/copy for later reference.

Also try hiding in a corner on 2nd shift all night and see if you can catch somebody changing the board. Pretend you are on a stakeout with Starsky and Hutch.

She will if you do it right. In fact, she will keep bothering you after you quit and move away.

Government you say? Then there should be some sort of local chain of command you can discuss this with, because what she's doing is fkd up and borders on harassment (if in fact she's trying to get you fired for not being at work on time).

Just copy it on a piece of paper verbatim. Write the date and the time that you copied it.

This next part is optional.

Then when confronted by her show it to her and tell her you copied it word for word as you were looking at it. Then in a very confrontational and menacing manner ask her if she's calling you a liar! If you're taller than her try and loom over her and look down on her in anger.

Try to remember when you didn't have a job and how it upset you. Now compare to how this whiteboard crap upsets you. You will immediately know which one is the best option for you.

You say this has happened 3X in 7 months, and you have a new job lined up. i'm not sure I'd waste a lot of time stressing about it. So you get a tongue lashing every other month until the new job starts. Big deal, she apparently hasn't threatened to fire you yet, and if she does, take it up the line then. Life is too short to stress about things with a short shelf life.

oh im not mad or angry, im more irritated and worried about being fired from a job (ive never been fired before) and on our security clearances it clearly goes into our background if you have ever been fired or let go from a previous job in the last 10yrs which really impacts chances of DoD clearance.

im going to do what JetMechZ16 recommends, im going to copy the whole schedule verbatim on a grid and just have a co-worker who's also there sign it as proof so i have some documentation and a witness.

If all goes according to plan my 2week notice will be submitted within the next 3-4 weeks and onto bigger and better things with a much more respected sub-contractor on site who's employees are overall happy with the company.

Thanks guys.

Do you have coworkers willing to sign off on that and challenge the boss?
