Default SiriusXM Upgrades Announced

If you have a Sirius subscription, you can now listen in the app for free.
They moved my favorite channel to "online only" a couple years ago, so this makes me happy.
If you have Sirius in your car, you may not need to pay for Pandora anymore.

SiriusXM Select subscribers now join SiriusXM All Access, SiriusXM Essential Streaming, and SiriusXM Premier Streaming subscribers with unlimited streaming access to the hundreds of SiriusXM music, sports, talk, news and entertainment channels, at no additional cost, outside the car on a phone, at home, and online. Access to SiriusXM via the SiriusXM mobile app and on connected devices in the home, comes at no extra cost to subscribers.

The company has also introduced Personalized Stations Powered by Pandora, while an expanded preview of SiriusXM Video unlocks On Demand Archive. Subscribers can see hundreds of videos, including in-studio performances, behind-the-scenes moments, and more.

“These new initiatives represent another tremendous step forward…and give our customers more value for their money than ever before,” said Jennifer Witz, SiriusXM’s President, Sales, Marketing and Operations. “Tens of millions of SiriusXM Select subscribers now get access to SiriusXM outside the car, and the many benefits of the SiriusXM app, at no additional cost. We are also especially proud that only six months after completing the merger with Pandora, our teams have brought unique music personalization to the SiriusXM app using Pandora’s industry-leading technology for our millions of All Access and Premier Streaming customers.”

Listening online is still not an option at work unfortunately.

Have never listened online, guess I need to read up on this as to how to "sign up". Guess I need to reference the Radio ID from the car to confirm the subscription as I don't have an online "account" per se.

Lifetime sub here as well. What I did was to set up my own private Icecast server at home and feed the output of my Sirius receiver into it. Now I can stream any SiriusXM channel that I want anywhere on the Internet.

Every problem has a solution.

People pay for this? Spotify > SirusXM. I got a free 2 month subscription when I took my car in for service last time. It literally just turned off yesterday. They have been blowing my phone up once a day for the last 5 days but won't leave a voicemail (their company pops up on the caller ID). They're desperate I don't know how they stay in business.

My subscription wouldn't allow me to get the channels up in the 300s...so not sure how that would work for me.

True, but that wasn't the problem I was trying to solve.

Can you stream this to my server for a nominal fee?

Doesn't work on Android phone, either app or browser. Doesn't recognize my account. Works fine on PC.
No biggie. Pandora works just fine and I can tailor it.

I'll call your customer service and haggle it down to $89.00/yr.

I liked XM but got tired of their deceptive billing practices. Wasn't worth it. Also, their channels never seemed to change their line-up much.

One of my subscriptions is about to expire (I use the 3 year plan) and will be calling them beforehand to haggle a lower price or I am gonna drop it. I have been a customer since 2004 but I am betting that this will be a fun experience.

We pay $4.99 a month for sxm. Worth it since in the summer you can get baseball games while driving long distances. I already have apple music if i want better quality sound to stream anywhere too, car/boat/house.
