Default 100,000 on my Camry

I just went over 100,000 miles on my 2001 Toyota Camry. best car I have ever owned. Wish I could by an American car that could compete.

I did that in a Corvair many years ago. I believe they were made by Americans 47 years ago. Toyotas are fine automobiles but the traditional automobiles made in the USA are just as good.

This is funny. My wife's old beater I use for travel just turned 200,000 miles. Temp gauge wasn't working I over heated it it turned off on me on a lone road. grabbed a 2 liter bottle I had in the car walked over to a canal put water in, fired right up and went home without a problem

You can. I've driven many an American vehicle well over 100 K trouble free miles.

My last American car was a 1984 Pontiac Fiero. Nothing but trouble.

I just turned 263,000 in my 3.4L 96 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Motor and trans. never been into, still runs excellent. Bought new.

Prior to that, an 88 Buick Regal 2.8 FWD with 175K when I sold it.

I wouldn't let that one experience taint my opinion of a manufacturer's product. I, on the other hand, gave Toyota 3 chances to show me their "superiority". None of them made it to 50 K without major problems.

Just turned of 170,000 on my '89 Vette. The whole drive train from the motor back has never had any work other than plugs and that sort of stuff. Changed the U-joints one time.

My DD is my wife's old Toyota Camry. It's a 1993 that we bought in '96. It has 206,500 miles on the V6.

We've done one tune up, changed the water pump, power steering pump, timing belt, and accessory belts.

It's been a very reliable car.

My parents had a '66 Chevy that they sold with 296,000 miles on it. It was still running good.

Puh-leez, you can easily do that with an American car.

I put 100k on my '99 Blazer.
I put 140k on a Cavalier.
There are plenty of 100k C4s running around.

I had 200,000 miles on my 71 Pinto. No problems, other than maintanance items. I sorry I ever sold it.
My 1979 Elcamino had 189,000 miles on it when it was totaled by a drunk driver. The AC compressor had to be replaced, an a transmission leak had to be repaired. The alternator had to be replaced at 152,000 miles
I have a 1985 Oldsmobile Calais with 143,000 miles on it. At 92,000 miles the water pump had to be replaced, and recently, the AC compressor was replaced.

I had a 94 Cavalier with 155,000 when I sold it, had a Chevy Tahoe with 147,000 when I sold it. My mom has a Jeep Grand Cherokee with 135,000 still running strong.

But you are right...American cars are crap

100,000 miles today is barely breaking the car in.

I learned my lesson a little quicker. I bought a 96 Camry brand new. I was (and still am) **** about maintenance. I ended up experiencing first-hand the dreaded Toyota sludge problem. The car smoked like Jackie Gleason every time I started it. It started around 75K. I dumped it for next to nothing on a trade-in. Ever since then, it's been a little difficult to convince me that Toyota's are all that and a bag of chips.

I never really thought of this in that way. I guess a Toyota is an American car
