lol, only people that didnt know what they were talking about. The only thing that makes a C6 and z06 similar, is the interior, and the "similar" body shape.

I would be ticked off if I had bought a GT500 when they first came out.
Imagine 6 months after the Z06 came out a special edition 600hp car coming.
It would throw the buyers and dealers off as the buyers would have to consider waiting or selling the car they bought to get the top of the line car.
Ford does it again.

It's all GOOD !!!
Now we are likely to see the LS7 in the new Carmaro... shortly after it's introduction.
I'm hoping GM, Ford, & Dodge are serious about supporting Trans-Am.

The "dupe" in my post had nothing to do with the gt500...somehow my previous post got listed twice and that is what I was indicating.

I like it, but I was a Mustang guy long before I ever bought my Corvette. The sad thing is they will go for STUPID money. I have no doubt you'll see them going for 100K plus. It's all in the name, and "Shelby" sends the collectors into fits.
What will have the ones that pay the rapage fees really crying is that 540HP is not the end of the line. You'll see Mustangs with more than that, and not that far off. Bank on it.

Pretty cool, but as said elsewhere it is still an overweight pig. As usual with past Ford cars, the customer is getting duped, since the dealers will not all get one, will use a lottery system(GT/GT 500? ring a bell), and the customer will get screwed on the price. It will not be cheap, nor affordable performance. No independent suspension nor exotic materials due to the Ford bean counters.
Ford, as with Chrysler, is in deep trouble financially, so what do they do? Build more cars that are basically unobtainable for those who want it(not me), and no convertible. They ought to be turning these things out like popcorn! They will never learn.
