Default Ford Bozo's On The Gt500kr

May need to give the auto maker a drug test as they come out with the 1000 unit, 2008 GT500KR Shelby Mustang and close to $60K MSRP and then dealer mark up's at 80-100K, for what, a modified Mustang hahaha. 540HP but that aint at the wheels and for way, way less my superior 05 Vette with a S/C will put down over 600HP. What are the auto makers thinking really makes me wonder sometimes.

Problem is (just like with the Z06 and it's dealer mark ups) Ford will sell everyone and create a buzz in the show rooms, internet chat sites and car rags. Just look you brought it up. Ford wins no matter what.

I dunno hats off to them, they have a 2+2 car that will now take a C6, they'll make tons of money on it and it will always be worth more than a reg C6. If i didnt have 2 Corvettes id try to get one....you sound like a C6 snob.

We all know how great Ford is doing losing 12.7 billion in 06, while laying off 30,000 workers at the same time paying their CEO of 4 months 28 million dollars. They need to come out with more cars like the GT500.... Makes perfect sense to me...

Default Dont judge a book by the cover an old saying

Shows what you know CJUNKIE, this is my first Vette and I have a mint 67 Mustang GT Fastback sitting beside the Vette. I just think the HP - Price wars on cars is getting fairly stupid but I'm not buying in to that Also they sell 1000 at 50K to the dealers so that nets Ford 50mil. The dealer sells them at 100K making the dealer all that extra profit not Ford. Sounds kinda dumb on Ford smart on the dealer and dumb on who ever pays the mark up. That is why prices continue to soar.

Nice The '68 Shelby GT500 KR was one of the best cars in the Muscle Car era--that I grew up in, btw. That, and a '70 AAR Cuda are at the top of my wish list, if I could afford either, even though I was always a Pontiac guy ('69 and '72 GTOs; '70 and '74 Formula/Trans Am.) Guys my age remember them, and Ford is staying nostalgic in bringing back the name. I have no doubt it will be a nice car, but not worth what Ford will sticker it at and nfw what the dealers will mark it up to. That's a shame. Only speculators will buy it, as happened with the ZR1, for that price. Hopefully, they will ultimately lose their shirts.
