Would you buy a Porsche 911 Carrera instead if....
...it was only $5000 more than the Corvette C6 (non Z06)? What about $10,000? Note that I'm talking about the regular 911 Carrera and not the S (the most basic 911).

Nope. Entirely different than vette and what I want ... but understand folks who bought the Porsche for their own preferences

I suspect quite a few guys or gals here could easily afford a Porsche. It simply is not what I'm into. I would guess owners may cross over from Viper to Vette or Vette to Viper..... but not a Porsche.

No, I'd have one if I wanted one. Same with beemers. I don't like the image these cars project. In addition I think they are grossly overpriced ( especially beemers ). I do not want to be seen in one. Ask me the same question about the SL500 ( which I cannot afford new ) and I'll probably answer yes at $10k over price of C6. I DO like the image that car projects.

No, because the maintainence fee will cost way more than the Vette and I don't think it's worth it unless you are wealthy enough to afford to be in the Porsche family. Besides, Corvette is better than Carerra in many ways interns of power and handling. The only Porsche I would consider buying is Turbo. just my opinion.

Tell me why? Isn't it 3130 lbs. and 355 hp? So why would you select it at even the same price, over a new Corvette?
