Thanks for giving us the small, insignificant details. You know, make, model..

The speed limiter enforcing the speed rating on your factory tires. Disabling the speedlimiter w/o changing tires would be very unwise.

I had heard that was the reason for the limitation. I plan on upgrading my wheel and tire combo very soon.

If I reprogram it, is it something that the dealer will notice right off, or do they have to be looking for it? Its on my 07 Silverado 1500.

I have a 2006 250hd 6.0 company truck. I used the hypertech to reprogram mine. I lost 1 mpg. It only seems to make a difference at full throttle. It pulls a little harder. I also put in the K&N filter. My work paid for it so what the hell. I don't think it was worth the money.

The speed limiter can be turned off with any tuning software. I would recomend getting a tune along with the speed limter adjusted. With a stock truck you should get anywhere from 2-4mpg increase with a tune.

Says who? I lost mpg after running a hypertech power program. I tried everything to get better mileage. I called them and talked to a tech and they said nowhere in their literature do they advertise any mpg increase. They only claim hp increase.

It makes me think of all the twenty-something guys around here that drive their lifted trucks like they were sports cars...I just LOVE getting tailgated by one of those when I am already...ummm...going exactly the speed limit...and the freeway is pretty full...

Not a tune from a handheld, they are a waste of money. I mean a real tune where someone uses a laptop and tuning software like efi live. I have never had a car or truck loose mileage after a tune.
