That's why I ordered an LMB ZO6 for less than that. TPW 5/7

why is it a waste of money?.....IMO if someone wants to spend 70K on a 45K car let them....they obviously wanted more of a muscle car vs. a sports car and could easily afford it....personally I really like the GT500 but would never pay that much over MSRP....

Assuming he wanted a vert, then you'd have to compare to a loaded 2008 C6 vert. In a strait line, I'm still not sure the mustang wins.

On a course . . .

(the brown one is the mustang)

Wow, that's a lot of money for a Mustang! Now if it came with a lifetime supply of premium gas and a 200,000 mile maintenance and warranty package..............

..................naahhh, it's still too much!

Have you told the folks in the "Other Cars" section about this yet? I'm sure they'd like to hear it. Maybe a kind mod will move it for you.

I have been a Ford guy since 1992 when I bough a used 1987 tbird turbo coupe (I loved that car).

Anyway, on a nice sunny Sunday just over a month ago I got bitten by a nice yellow C6 sitting on the dealer lot.

So I go over to the Ford dealership and I tell them that I am ready to drop some cash on a fast car. It had to be more than a Mustang, though.

I said I liked the GT500 and it was in the price range I was looking to spend (43K or so). I felt that the value was there for that car.

Sorry, that car is going for 13K over MSRP and being sold to another dealership. Well, that just stinks. KEEP it then.

OK, how about this nice blue with white stripes Rouche Stage 3 stang? It's MSRP is around 46K.

I look at it. Looks great. I sit in it. Basically a cloth standard Mustang interior. Great drive train, if you like super chargers, I guess.

I told him that at 46K that the stage 3 was not a great value to me. Other than being a faster mustang, I just did not see it being worth as much as a C6. What's a C6 the dealer asked? Whoa..whatever. Learn what the competition has.

Anyway, I'm sorry, but at 56K the GT500 is not worth it, and at 46K, neither is the GT500 with it's 385HP and weak interior.

You see, the C6 is a marvel of technology. It's blazingly fast and has top notch components. It FEELS like a sports car. It LOOKS like a sports car. It won't rust...won't dent...doesn't weigh 3900 pounds...and...well, it has a removable roof.

Anyway, I bought the C6 that same day. I love this car. It's well worth it in my book, an all around great sports car.

Sorry, Ford, you lost me on this one. GM has you beat hands down on price and value, not to mention performance.

I still like the GT500, though...

Wonder how much they'll get for the KR version(540hp)?

100% it beats it not only 0-60 but 60-0, 0-30, 30-0, top speed, ride comfort and hi-tech cool features. The Moustang has only one advantage its a 2+2.

I like the Gt500 for what it is... a throwback beefy muscle car. But 70k plus tax & license for a new muscle car? You got to be freaking kidding me. Too much money for a 4000 pound car that was not designed from the ground up as a new perfomance car - even though it is cool looking to me.

If I had a waist of money, it'd be a lot easier to trim down.

I think people who overpay for these plan to garage it and hope to sell it for a profit.

Tell him when he washes it to be careful cleaning the stripes....a guy here in town that has one that I spoke to literaly rubbed through the blue stripes on two parts of his car The color bled off and he had a time getting it off the white paint. He was cautious washing it too, not rubbing like a maniac or anything, just microfiber towel and water/soap solution...normal wash!

Never in my lifetime did I ever think I would see a new mustang sell for over $40,000. And then there's the dumbasses out there paying that for them......I hate a ford !
