Every once in awhile, an opportunity comes along to own a true piece of automotive history and such is the case with this offering. In 1965 the United States of America was in a positive and forward-looking state of mind. The design of the automobile was answering the desires of the public more than at any other time and the Chevrolet Impala SS stood out from all the rest. Yes, Hot Dog’s, Apple Pie and Chevrolet were the USA.

This 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS is done in Ermine White and Silver Blue Mist interior. The restoration was totally frame off and completed about nine years ago. Every possible part was purchased directly from General Motors. It has the 327 cubic inch engine; with a floor shift three-speed automatic transmission and center console that provides individual seating in the luscious bucket seats. FACTORY AIR and it is fully operable. Yes, I said Factory Air. You know the rarity of this accessory in 1965. Comfort was becoming more of a necessity, but still a luxury and the same could be said of the power steering also, a factory installed accessory on this car.

This car was sold new in Phoenix, AZ. By Courtesy Chevrolet and has never been titled outside of Arizona though the owner has now retired and brought the car with him to Missouri. The provenance shows the history of the car from the first title, which has been encased in plastic, through the receipts for restoration, maintenance and upkeep that bring you up to today. The car has ALL MATCHING NUMBERS. You will note in the pictures that the valve covers and air breather or not original, but the original pieces were kept. You would be hard put to find a better 65 Impala SS, but I feel confident in saying you will not find one at this price. The owner is not so much interested in getting the full price potential out of this car as he is finding someone who, has an appreciation for it, that mirrors his own. I believe everyone understands that.

About the owner: He has been a car enthusiast his entire life and has owned many outstanding examples of Chevrolet products. It is more than a hobby. When he retired and moved from Arizona, back to his home state of Missouri, he purchased a custom built trailer just to transport the car safely. The car is started every week and allowed to come up to operating temperature. The Air Conditioning and Heater are operated and the car is driven on his property to exercise the brakes and transmission. There are no drips or leaks anywhere.

The price is $25,000.

One item must be noted: though the tires look new, the owner does not recommend them as safe for highway travel.

The owner’s age is the only reason this car is for sale. IF you are a serious buyer, we invite your inquiries, but if you must ask your spouse for permission or arrange for financing then please do it BEFORE inspection. If you are not serious, enjoy the pictures, but please respect the seller and do not bother him.
