I was in the market for a new car in 1998. Was looking for an entry level luxury car, considering a BMW 3 series, Lexus ES series, Mercedes C series and the Catera. I test drove them all for at least 30 minutes except the Catera. I drove it about 3 blocks and took it straight back to the dealership and told them no way would I purchase one.

My grandmother is a caddy freak but she is tight $-wise too. She went through two cateras before moving on to a CTS. My opinion on the catera when I first saw it was, "It's a camry". After diving it my opinion fell massively. They are not Terrible cars, but I doubt you would be happy with it. They are not even up to Cadillac's normal standard (which is not amazing anyway) Odd Parts and tools. I will say this though, the CTS is an improvement.
