What this article fails to mention is that they performed this impromptu drag race in Lake Tahoe. They were racing at 6000'. The GTR is turbocharged and will see whatever the wastegate/BC is set to as long as there is enough surrounding air to feed the compressor. They don't lose much if any power at altitude. The Z06 on the other hand is NA, and loses over 100hp at 6k' vs sea level, and these driver's were "surprised."

Impromptu? Funny that he mentioned his new friend "Rich" couldn't wait to tell the Forum guys about it. Where IS Rich? Why didn't he tell us about it? Who exactly IS Rich? If it's already a magazine article, it must have happened a couple of months ago.

Yep, that is correct. I remember the post. Rich even said that they were going to include the encounter in the write-up and sure enough there it is. Given the elevation and relative mechanicals ... the result seems about right.

Sorry. My skepticism on all this GTR stuff is getting the best of me. So much bs and staged setups, I guess I just can't wait till we see them on a track. We still didn't see his pics.

Well, yeah, I mean that's why forced induction = win right? IE, ZR1 = win

That is so sweet. Finally somebody in the forum to end this whole debate. The GTR proves itself to be a serious performer just like the Z06. I can't wait to get my hands on one and let the extreme mod bug hit

Please stop comparing those ugly cars that have engines that sound like washing machines with our beloved V8's...

So you're saying that the ZR1 can't accelerate as well as the GT-R???? I don't have all the stats to compare, but I strongly believe that the ZR1 would give that GTR a severe butt whippin.

I am saying the only cars that may be able to keep up with the ZR1 are the Saleen and Bugatti, the Z06 can out accelerate the GTR, nevermind the ZR1
