opinions on mustangs?
I like most am a car enthusiast, and i will agree that a few years of the mustangs we decent looking because they were wider looking and lower looking.
But my neighbor has a "pony" it has got to be the epitome of a chick car. NOT for me.

I have seen some that look pretty good, with decent power, it is difficult to keep track of all the models they have. It seems they have several variations of the GT. That aside it is a car that may be fine for some but is not one I would want or consider owning.

The current model is very retro cool but a little to small. It is a chick car. Can you believe the dashboard lights change colors? Even can be changed to pink. IMO how someone can put $50,000 into a Mustang is a fool.

I doubt that I would ever buy one but from an appearance standpoint, I like the way they look and the stance of the car. my neighbor has a GT, white with blue full-length strips and it looks good. then again I can afford to like his car since I can leave him in the dust should he get too full of himself

I love my C6.
I think there's a lot to like about certain Mustangs, but they aren't in the same league with a C6. Four seats, live rear axle & way less horsepower is a huge difference.
That said, there is a current model GT in black with hood scoop & chrome American Mag type wheels that's really nice looking. It might make a good stable mate for my C6.

I don't like their looks and their top of the line model still has a solid rear axle. I owned an 88 Mustang GT before and that was a great car (considering what was available in the 80s). I started to lose interest in the Mustang when they went to the 4.6.

I wouldn't call the Mustang a "chick" car. IMO the Mustang is a decent car. From all accounts it performs well-enough (for what it is), it's affordable and it's a decent platform for modding. That said the Mustang just doesn't do anything for me...never has. I don't even give them a second look.
There was a large contingent of Roush Mustangs at the track last weekend (a local club I believe). They were all fairly unimpressive going around the track.

I've owned several and loved them. Just like the Vette being america's sports car they are The iconic pony car. Chances are I will own another (2005+). I know I'll get flammed but in my opinion The paint and build quality of my Fords have always beat out my GM's.

Wish I never sold my 1965 GT with its high performance 289. Back in the early 70's money was an issue and the car needed more body work than I could afford. Engine, interior and drive train were perfect.

I myself think that Mustangs are awesome cars and not any more a chick car than a Corvette is a mid-life crisis car! Though I now am driving a C6, I still have blue in my veins. Had planned to buy a 500 GT and only changed my mind at the last minute.
The one thing that the Mustangs have over the Corvette is the fact that Ford actually listens to the owners and builds what the people want. Everyone likes to comment about the solid live rear axle, but that is what the Mustang enthusiasts wanted, so Ford kept it. When Ford had planned to go to an independent rear, the letters they got were overwhelming. Ford gives their customers what they want when it comes to the Mustang. From all the complaints I read here about the Corvette in general, I don't think GM is listening too well.
I do love my C6, but it is a different class of car than a GT Mustang. They are each great performance vehicles in their own right.

My first car was a Mustang. I love the look of the current model, but I'd hesitate ever buying another one since mine was a lemon and everyone else I've known who had one, had bad luck with it. Water pumps, starters, differentials, and lots of other nickel and dime stuff...

I've owned 7, but after also owning and driving MANY other cars, I now realize why they are so inexpensive. Great car for an aggressive teenage boy, or someone wanting to go relatively fast on a budget, but that's about it.
