Default The new Camaro...better than a vette?

This is from Camaro5.com. I thought everyone would get a kick out of this.

Well.... the Camaro is suppose to have a lot more power than the C5. But it will be heavy, so I wonder if that'll make up the difference anyway... ? I'd like to see some ET's and 0-60's. I've had Camaros all of my life but I'm not sure if this one does it for me in terms of looks which is why I went with the C5. Time for more mods!

I'd like one but I said that about the new Mustang and now they are a dime a dozen.

Come to think of it the C5 is about five cents a dozen...

422hp SS though? Dayummm... Probably cheaper than the Vette too. I guess we'll see in a few months. I think we're going to be seeing a lot of striped up/modified versions running around, just like the Mustang.

The camaro better than the corvette! What are people smoking? It would be like me saying that my mustang is better than the corvette. Nope, it's just a camaro.

But you have to realize that the curb weight of a new SS with manual will be 3860 pounds. That's a heavy car.

So the SS is rated at 422 hp. MY 02 Z06 is rated at 405 hp but weighs about 700 pounds less.

I agree. I wasn't aware that the Camaro could compete with the ZR1. Or what about the Z06... oooooo, you mean they think they are better because they can come close the the base vette. ahhh, now i get it.

Yeah, that's way too heavy. But with a base C5 at about 3250lbs. and 350hp, the Camaro will be a couple of tenths faster. The Z06's shouldn't have a problem though.

Exactly. Now think about the new BASE C6 with 430 hp and a 3217 curb weight. Nothing is even close. Two different cars in two different classes.

The new Camaro is an awesome car. But it competes with the Mustang and Challenger, not the Corvette.

I like all of the comparisons of the two cars, especially the car that isn't even out yet.

The new camaro can't keep up with the lighter Vette (C6). But if they get some off the line and them GM folds...it will be quite the collector's item worth a lot of $$$.

The Corvette isn't better than the Camaro, and the Camaro isn't better than the Corvette. They're both DIFFERENT from one another, that's all...

They'll be in for a rude awakening if they try and challenge my 'old' c5.

I can't wait to see one of those new Camaros at the track

We'll see who needs the kleenex! They'll need binoculars to read my license plate!

They are some Nice cars, but in my opinion, they are NOT better than the Corvette!
