2010 Cobra GT500
http://www.motorauthority.com/ford-u...lby-gt500.html
What do you guys think?? I wanna drive one, not to replace the corvette, just to see how it drives/handles.
I want to know the price tag.. the 2008 GT500 made 500hp and the price tag was a lot lower than I expected to see. I want to say it was high 40's.

Drive one and then drive a used C6 Z06 for comparison. Each will cost about the same as the other. My bet is that you will not be impressed with the Mustang.

I'm talking brand new price, not used. I've driven a C6 Z06 and that being said, I like my C5Z better (but at the time I drove it my car made about 600rwhp). Either way, I'm not really looking for a comparison other than the cobra they had out last year... idk, this spring when I get some wheel time behind one, I'll make sure to post up what I think.
It claims 540hp stock and I think it looks pretty good too. They said in road and track this month that it's not tuned to it's full potential due to the fact that they didn't want it to be as comparable stock (hp wise) to the GT500KR or whatever the hell it's called.

I think loaded its $51K

Its a very heavy car and it reflects in overall handling/performance. It looks great but for a car with 500+ HP its not impressive.

Pretty sweet. It does seem they react well to mods.
The only reason I mentioned the road course thing is because they claim it was designed around the idea of being used on a road course, rooting from the road race cars from the 60s. I think they did an amazing job with the styling. It's probably my favorite looking mustang ever with the 03 Cobra in a close 2nd.

Hey man, don't hate on my dodge daily driver! LOL
I love that truck. Back on topic here, I didn't even really notice the connection there until you said something. Either way, I think they did well designing the 'new' lines on the car. I know it's definitely not the best choice for what I would want it for, but I do like the (new) price. I think the upgrades they did this year (still given that the motor is somewhat detuned) are impressive. That being said, throw a couple mods on it like they said before in here and you're going to have a fun car to take to the drag strip, or to drive around town/country roads on a weekend cruise. That's what it's all about (imo)... idk man, I think it's safe to say I like it! dont ban me, bro!

Damn that is one sexy ride. It looks far better designed then the current GT500. American styling at it's best, these could sell like hotcakes overseas if it weren't for protectionism and heavy taxes on large displacement engines in some regions. That's gotto make anyone who bought the recent Shelby GT500s have instant buyer's remorse, especially if they paid way over MSRP thinking they had some sort of collectible. Ford is putting out some seriously good vehicles these days.....the up and coming Taurus SHO looks like it's got potential as well.

^ +1 I definitely want to drive the new SHO as well.
I'm pretty sure they talked about that (also) in this months car&driver. however, it might have been in road/track but I don't think so.

I've got a bit more info on the new suspension dynamics they came up with to counterbalance the car having (IIRC) over 70% of it's weight in the front of the car. I'll grab it next time I am downstairs. I know they loosened up the front roll bar, stiffened the front springs and loosened the rear just a bit. Supposedly, it handles much better than the previous GT500 and the GT500KR.
I guess it's Ford's way of showing the new Camaro what's up? hmm..

I bought an '07 w/1500mi. that someone originally paid WAY too much for ($10k over MSRP) and really like it. Ford Racing has a lot of parts to upgrade, not to mention the insane aftermarket for these cars. I just got a delivery of the FRPP suspension package (adjustable shocks/struts, springs, sway bars, nicer strut tower bar), shifter, and 3.73 gears (stock is 3.31). I already have the FRPP Performance Pack (mufflers, CAI, tune) on the car. Ford also offers a nice TVS blower upgrade (yeah, I know that KB and Whipple do, too) that some have pushed to 700rwhp.
The 2010's are sweet. Not as nice looking design-wise in the rear, but better looking rims, interior materials, and gearing. Just like Corvettes, though, you can do or change anything you aren't happy with!
Suspension upgrades awaiting installation...
