Default Do axle nuts "just come loose?"

I ask because my DD (Impreza) had an axle nut come loose. I took it in for warranty, and of course they blamed the aftermarket swaybar. (as if.)

But I worry that the axle nut coming loose is the symptom of a bigger problem. What say you experts?

Default

They come loose on the C6's all the time. Some people have resorted to adding a second nut, using a small amount of loctight type materials, etc. GM just says to torque it to a higher pressure than it came out of the factory - but then puts in the service bulletins that they should be checked during the routine services.

Not sure about Subies - better check my WRX..
