Without question C5 is better looking. I purchased my C5 on July 16, 2004 after being second on line at the NY Auto Show to view the 2 C6's in the Lobby. After looking at those cars for over 2 hours, I scoured inventory and purchased my new C5. Now will order a CRM 2010 Z06 from Forum dealer for Fall delivery. Z06 is a good looking car.

Remember that opinions are like a$$holes. Everyone has one, but no one want to hear it.
This is the C6 section, right?

I bought one when they came out in 2000. Mine was silver with red interior. GREAT little car. It is not as fast as a vette but still lots of fun in a different way. I put about 60k miles on it and had a few problems with the Air going hot but nothing major. The car is not as much fun driving around town as the Vette but if you like to go to Deals gap or the track, it is loads of fun.

I was typing away and everything got erased, so if I double post, you'll know why.
If you can get it for cheap, I would do it. Resale should be decent when you sell it later.
I had brand a new '02 back in the days, and loved it. But then, I was 27 years old, 5'8", and 150#. I loved the 9k rpm revs. It was easy to mod and great fun at the track. I had 2 sets of wheels and 4 sets of tires. It's smaller than the C6, more nimble, and you couldn't ask for better seat and tranny (mine remained stock).
2002, they added rear glass window and more leather interior pieces.
2004, engine was changed from 2.0 to 2.2 liters, and the revs dropped to 8k rpm.
2006-07'ish, they added stability control because some s2k's were known to lose traction and spin (I did this couple of times with cold weather/rain and worn out tires). So, I would recommend it if it's 06-07 or newer, whenever they added the stability control.
Why not ask your buddy to take it for a spin on a weekend to think about it and really get a feel of it before you decide. It may fit like a glove or it may be too small (interior, seats, engine/hp/torque, and trunk space). If it's me, I would definitely do it again.

The S2000 is a ricer IMHO, and the HP is
If you are waiting for the C7, then you will be waiting for a while
Not sure why you are not getting back into a C6, but just in case you want to have summer fun in anything other than a Vette , I suggest the roadster 350z. Now that's a fun car.

The S2K is a really fun little roadster - killer chassis (super stiff), amazing shifter, outstanding brakes and steering feedback. Basically like driving a go kart. The seats are also stellar - FWIW, I'm a little over 6 foot and ~190lbs and it feels plenty roomy. The trunk was fine for taking two overnight bags down to Orlando. The build quality is very, very good, they have HID/LED standard, come only in a 6-speed manual.
I picked up one for a little a change up after having 4 Vettes. They're hand built in Japan, and were produced in moderately limited quantities (about 65K in the US) - the HP isn't comparable to a Vette, because it's more in line with the light weight, old school roadsters by MG and Aston.
If you like to DRIVE, it's a real drivers car, incredibly quick around town due to gearing, fast on track, etc.

Absolutely. I'm comparing it to classic light weight roadsters. Don't get all wound up (or your pretty panties in a wad) with modern high dollar, super-tech Astons. Hell, dozens of automotive journalists did the same with the S2K and especially the Miata. It's a typical generalization (and point of comparison) when discussing these types of cars as they share a common design philosophy regardless of the brand.

if so... you'd LOOSE your bet soundly, since there are 7 sec "streetable" Vettes out there..
also, I've had a 98 C5, 02 S2000 and now a 03 Cobra.. handling the S2000 takes em all.. relability the worst was C5 and best is the 03 Cobra..

I'm going to guess you have about 30 psi from a turbo, and making around 550 or 600 to the wheels?

There sure are a lot of C5 owners that like to talk about how much better looking the C5 is that a C6. Of course, laughter ensues shortly after they start talking. I like the C5 a lot and I'd be proud to own one if I couldn't afford my C6... but come on guys, let it go. 95% of people would agree that the C6 looks better.
