My guess would be that people here might be a bit biased.

Does anyone here wish their C5 had a turbo inline 4?

Can I have 2 of them? Ok, and I guess it doesn't count if the inline 4's are joined at the crank?

Sorry, but I like the way the Corvette handles and rides just fine - especially considering the price difference for the Porsche.

Some stubborn people in here!

Having had a 968 which handled incredible and was solid like a roll of quarters...yes it would be nice if the Vette handled like it.

More importantly, I wish the Porsche had the power, torque, sound and style of the Vette!

Bottom line: I don't have the Porsche any more for a reason.

I'll take my C5 over any Porsche any day.

I test drove 911 turbos before and my Z06 handles much better. Maybe its because I bought my car new and it only has 11k miles on it now so the suspension is not worn out. I did like the porsche a lot but awd and turbos are not my thing. Oh and the extra 80k in price wasnt my thing either lol

No ride experience can make up for the lack of sexiness - they look like a shoe with wheels.

don't get me wrong i would never trade my vette for a cayman, but just the way it felt was amazing. i can not explain it and it is something you would have to experience first hand. it just translated the road so well, and if it were'nt for the c5's drop dead sexy lines i might have thought about it. maybe the 911's dont feel this way, maybe its just the cayman's. i havent driven a 911 yet but im pretty sure it handle's better than a cayman.

Two years ago I drove a new (at the time) BoxsterS which was basically the open Cayman...

Slow.

The rpm's increased and yes the speedometer was moving upwards, but it was puss compared to the violent nature of my daily driver Zo6. The handling was nice, but then again, the car was nearly new.

Euro trash (euro redneck) -among true Porschephiles the Boxster/Cayman is a dilution of the brand.

About three weeks ago I had a red Caymen try to blow by me on I95. It did not go too good for him. But he did hold his finger up telling me I was number 1 as exited.
I will keep the Vette.

Not so sure -- Cayman is reputed to be the best handling Porsche. I'd love to drive one someday (IMHO they are the best-looking of all the Porsches as well).

Some posters here seem to equate stiffness to good handling -- just not true. I suspect the Cayman also has a fantastic ride to go with the great handling feel. Best analogies I have are:
Bottom line to me is Porsches do not have higher limits than Vettes of the same vintage but on average have better road feel and transitional capabilities while maintaining a supple ride. That (and build quality) are why they cost so much. For the same price as I paid for my C5, any Porsche would have been older and/or more beat, and thus likely would not handle better than my C5, and 100% for sure would be much slower. What fun is that????

My good friend has a Cayman another has a 911, I'm the odd man out with the American Muscle. Let me say that all 3 cars are fantastic in their own right. Both of my Porsche friends will tell everyone that my Vette will flat out burn them on a straightaway,be it 0-60 or any other speed tests. However, I'll be the first to tell anyone that I could not hang with them on a track. We rib each other pretty good but all of us are content that we are successful enough in life to have these fine automobiles. They tell me that pretty soon my car will be part of a defunct company and I tell them their cars are just overrated Volkswagens! Then we drink beer and watch hot chicks check out our cars. Life is good!
