Took my wife , a few years back ( '88) to our local SF Bay area Porsche dealer. My wife , like me is big into muscle cars .
So she was frustrated by the crap that was out there at the time and I suggested maybe a fun little Porsche. Ok we drive down to their show room in my Vette. Blah, blah, blah with the sales person and she gets into one of the 911s and goes test driving with the sales person.
Ten minutes later, they're back. This sales guy out , very indignant and points to the street while telling her to get off the lot.
My wife's smiling. I'm puzzled but ok since she's smiling.
"What?" I said.
She says " Oh I just told him that his car reminds me of a VW"!
She later bought a new 1988 Fiero GT. Now she just drives her Vette.

Oh, and I would not trade the power of my 01 Z for any Porsche. I've driven my FIL's '93 911 Turbo and it is a fabulous car but I love the way the Z feels.

Actually, I'd like to have both! My c5 for straight line power, engine sound, and all around good looks. A Cayman S for fun in the twisties and superb road manners. Definitely different cars for different purposes all together.
