Any body wish thier c5 handled and felt like a Porsche?
I had the opportunity the other day to drive a Porsche Cayman and let me tell you the road feel and translation is unbelievable. It is almost like you are one with the road, it just felt so tight and crisp. As soon as I got back in my c5 she felt extremely numb and felt like I was floating along when compared to the Cayman, keep in mind this was not the "S" model either. Does any one know what mods are needed to make my c5 have better road feel and translate the road better? Keep in mind my vette has the Z51 option. Flame suit on

I purchased a Corvette, not a Porsche. They definitely handle nice, but I'm sure if you invested the price difference between a C5 and a Porsche into handling upgrades, you'd get a pretty comparable if not better ride.

Probably Coil overs and sway bars will do the trick!

I'd have to drive a Cayman to find out. None of my friends are that affluent (or that affluent with a taste for sports cars).
I would think an aggressive alignment on the C5 would help. A friend's 911 chewed through front tires every 10k miles. I couldn't afford that!

No one here is going to admit the Porsche handles better or wish they had the handling characteristics of a Porsche. Too much pride.
I happen to like a variety of sports cars and see no reason in being 'faithful' to just one. I've ridden in a 911 and that moves like it's on rails! I definitely get what you're saying about the feeling of floating in the vette. I too have the Z51 package. It would be nice to have better suspension, but simply putting parts together won't cut it.
Porsche's handling is worked into the design of the entire car and its geometry. They focused more on engine and handling characteristics and improving what they have rather than constantly redesigning everything. It turned out well for them, and they've got a great car!
Too bad Corvette still spanks them in the 24 hour LeMans!

That's pretty funny stuff. If your 'vette feels numb, start the engine.
My C5 is the perfect sports car for me. Fast and stiff enough to feel the road and respond quickly without being so stiff every bump knocks a tooth out.
However, the C3 stays in the garage most of the time because a long trip will loosen some stuff in your head.
