Default SOLD - 1989 Turbo Trans Am GTA SE- #373 - 20th Anniversary - Indy 500 Pace Car - $14K

I am selling my 1989 Turbo Trans Am # 373, White with Tan Leather Interior, all original, 4sp Auto, 3.8 V6 Turbo engine, Lexan locking T-Tops (not glass), 50,400 original miles.

I am the second owner, for over 7 years bought in September 2002, always garaged and cared for. The car was originally from Florida. I have clear title and a clean CarFax, showing no accidents. It’s free of any accidents, rebuilds, paint work or interior work.

The car runs/drives/handles/brakes excellent. The engine starts up easily and idles at 700rpms. No smoke from engine or exhaust. No trouble codes. The transmission shifts smoothly and the car does not make any rattles or squeaks. At highway speeds there is no wind noise from the windows/T-tops/windshield and the car goes straight and doesn’t shake. All the rubber molding is in excellent condition. Suspension and shocks are tight. I just changed the engine/transmission/radiator/brake/power steering fluids, coil pack/spark plugs/wires, brake pads, sway bar links, fuel filter, power antenna, valve cover gaskets, PVC valve, hood lifts and O2 sensor.

The interior is all original/clean and in very good condition. There are no cracks in the dash or rear wing. The seats, windows, locks, lights(interior/exterior), heat, A/C (needs recharge), gauges(gas/tach/water/oil/speedometer), horn, power antenna and blinkers all work. The T-Tops in very good condition don’t leak w/ T-Top bags and T-Top shades. Headliner is in good condition. There are no stains and the carpet is clean, no rips.

The paint/body is in excellent condition. Its glossy and shines nice. The rims are nice/clean, no scrapes and tires are in good condition. Underneath is nice and clean.

I have both owners manuals (firebird and 20th Anniversary Supplement) and documentation from PHS (Pontiac Historical Society), which includes a letter stating the car #, press photos and copy of the window sticker. Have receipts for all the parts ever purchased and actually kept all the old parts that I replaced.

It’s a solid 20 year old car that I am sure someone will enjoy and just might go all in value someday. Asking $15,000.

Serious buyers only. No joy rides. Call 516-851-6276

Yes its the same turbocharged 3.8L and 200-4R trany from the GN but the intercooler is from the GNX and larger heads.

Here is some info:

http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...ure/index.html

http://www.highperformancepontiac.co..._am/index.html

http://www.fast-autos.net/vehicles/P...urbo_Trans-Am/

Just as quick as the GNX but handles much better.

Thanks,

Rob

These cars are fast. One of the car magazines had one doing 0-60 in 4.6 seconds.

Such a sweet car, you have a beautiful example for sale there.... This is probably one of the most (if not the most) desireable/collectable 3rd generation F-Bodys out there. Best of luck on your sale

Thanks, man. Its a shame I want to sell it but I have been getting rid of all my collectors cars and this is my last one. My wife has had enough and with 2 small kids (5 and 2) I finally realized that I don't have the time to play anymore....that or I am just sick and tried of my wifes bitching about my cars.

So far I have sold my:
1991 TA convertible
1987 Mustang GT convertible
1991 Capri converible
1986 Celica
1972 MB 350SL
1982 CE Corvette
1978 TA SE Y82 (True Bandit)
1987 Z28
And last but not least I am trying to sell the TTA.

I did pick up and 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII for the mean while.

And would love to get a 2004 CTS-V or even a 1997-2001 or 2002 Infiniti Q45.

Thanks,

Rob

Its funny you put the comment about the CTS-V at the bottom..... I was thinking same thing when I read the part of your post above the picture of the Mark..... you may also want to look at older Bimmer M5's(these cars are a steal in the lower to mid 20K range right now), Audi S4/RS4, Mercedes E55, IS 350 Lexus, Infiniti G37, Charger SRT-8 or 300C SRT-8.... If you need some utility then check out a Trailblazer SS or SRT-8 Jeep..... all of these vehicles deliver 13 second or better performance and handle/brake quite well along with being able to car around a family of 4 without issue.

Once again good luck with your sale

Mike

In photo ESC02072.jpg it looks like scrapes and a tear on the bottom of the driver door panel, or is that just dirty?

No tears just dirt from shoes rubbing against it. I will work on getting that off today for you.

I appreciate the effort but don't beat yourself up on my account
I showed your photos of your wonderful car to my wife but she's still sticking to her guns. She wants a mint condition Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am. The hunt continues.
Good luck on the sale though

Good luck with the sale!

One of the magazines just had a send off photo for Pontiac, with (if I remember correctly) this and a GTO pictured. I was thinking how great it would be to find one in good condition.

Unfortunately my wife just bought a new car... otherwise, we would be giving you a call.

I think it was Motor Trend that did that on the last page of their last issue. Congrats on your new car. What did you get? Just keep me in mind if you come into some extra cash, win the lotto or your stock portflio double within the next few months!

The bandit is one of the coolest car ever made. I have wanted one since I was 6 years old (1977) but they drive like trucks. The steering wheel is too small, handles like a truck, brakes sucked (car could not stop itself) and only has 200hp with a 6.6 liter W72 is pathetic. Gets 10 mpg and goes 0-60 in 9.3 seconds. And some of them have so much bondo its crazy.

Now my TTA has the 3.8 liter turbo, 300hp, LE1 brakes, gets 24 mpg, goes 0-60 in sub 5 seconds, hanldes/stops like a race car and also looks cool.

Still a cool car and I've seen people drop hot small blocks into them. I had a 78 Z28 and an 80 Z28 and they did not handle like trucks.

Feel in love with it when the movie came out and still think it is one of the nicest looking cars made IMO. Like you said, those years were a sad time for the performance end
