G8 GT Owners step inside
I bought my '09 January 1st and have always liked the car, except the torque management holding back it's shifts. I don't race the car and have no interest in taking it to the track but the G8 GT has some seriouse detuning going on. Over on the Grrrr8 Pontiac forum, a vender is having a sale on the Superchips Cortex handheld programmer at $349 free shipping. After driving the car for a few days I am more then pleased with it's new-found performance. Maybe some of you guys have already found this out but I had to step in and tell everyone to not hesitate if you're thinking of buying this handheld. I have used Superchips handhelds on a few other vehicles with mild results. Not so with this car. This is a major leap in tuning. The Cortex is the only one that does the transmission as well, instead of just the engine.

SC's latest Cortex update includes a 93 octane tune. Locally we can only get 91 octane premium fuel. I added one cup per five gallons of toluene to a full tank of 91, installed the 93 tune and went for a drive. Guys are reporting 13.40's with this 93 tune. For handheld performance the car is a blast to drive.

Also bought mine in January.
I did a Vector ecm/tcm tune(emailed the files and bought their cable). Love the car now. I also have the american racing headers(1 3/4) and a vararam intake.
The Grrrr8 is a very good G8 forum for info.
