Searching for Antique Parts
My dad happened upon an old 1956 Bentley he is trying to get running. He has done well thus far but has hit a wall trying to find a part for the carburetor.
There are two carburetors and each house a large doughnut looking float inside. The carbs fill with gas raising the float which press against a cut off valve for the gas to flow into the carb.
One of the floats were damaged. My dad has tried welding it back together (they are made of hollow brass it looks like) but it is not buoyant enough to press against the stop valve.
Anyone have any idea on finding a re-manufactured float for the carb? Is there a support forum for these cars or a site like Wilcox and Ecklers for old Bentleys?
Thanks,
~ Kip
