Default 2010 Jeep SRT-8 Owners?

Considering this car as well as a Vette. Any owners here? Wondering what the reliability has been, personal experience, price paid, rebate info, whatever you have!

A buddy has one... all I can say is he likes it a lot... but he gets around 11-13mpg regularly. So be ready for that. No question its a cool ride!!

Yeah gas mileage is terrible I'm sure. My concern is getting it for a good price. No way I'm paying close to sticker....the rebate is 4k right now so that is a start. Ideally if the sticker is 49k fully loaded with every possible option I want it for close to 40k plus TTL. Dealer I talked to 2 years ago was fully ready to deal on one...the challenge is finding them in stock. It's like one per 5 dealers even have one.

I had one a couple of years ago and loved it! My main complaints were the horrible ride and horrible gas mileage. Minor complaints were no rear leg room / cargo space and it can't tow much in stock form.
It was fast as heck stock, it looks really aggressive and has tons of great options OEM!

Since then I have owned a Saab 9-7x Aero (LS2 powered) and two Trailblazer SSs and still own an SS.

I would NOT pay $40K for a 2010 SRT8 knowing a new body style is just around the corner...

I would not pay 40k for anything with the Jeep name (or Chrysler for that matter) on it, & I own a `02 Liberty. It only gets 18 hwy, & thats with a 3.7L V6

I nearly bought TBSS, but they are discontinued and they don't pack the punch of the SRT.
However, I agree...buying a Jeep was never a number one idea of mine. They are hard to find...very few around. If Corvette was AWD I'd be all set but they aren't, so I'm checking these cars out.

TBSS is AWD or 2wd. TBSS can run mid 12s with minimal mods and you can still tow, try that with a non roomy jeep

I love mine. I just wish the auto had a sixth gear and more rear seat legroom. Other than that, no complaints. Fully loaded 2008 stickered at $49k+ and purchased at $37k, it hasn't devalued much, I would say only about 4k at most.

How did you get that price?? That's exactly what I'm looking for...no way that car is worth 50 grand..but for 37-38 it's a solid car. Was it rebates or just bargaining?

had a silver 06 and now have a black 08...so yeah we like them.

no major issues with either one. 06 and some paint flaking on the front bumper. dealer fixed it, but only after major arguments and me losing my **** on them.

08 had the alt die so it and the batt were replaced. then it had a squeaky rear shock and it was replaced. the mygig headunit has at times has gone screwy. no sound and can't do anything on the headunit. hopefully the latest software fixed it. haven't had the issue since upgrading. it only happened a few times in a year anyway.

no complaints on the ride from me. does great in the snow on stock rubber. ride is a little harsh but nothing unexpected. our mileage is ~14.5 with mixed driving.

honestly, this vehicle has been one of our favorites we've ever had.

Agreed, stock to stock the TBSS is a wimp.

If I had to choose to keep a truck 100% stock, it would be the SRT-8 (one of the reason I had one before, didn't want to dump a ton of $$ into it)

If you plan on modding it, TBSS. IMHO the TBSS will hold it's value a lot better since they are already lower priced.

You wish you had a sixth gear, the TBSS wishes it had a 5th gear

Hasn't devalued much? Granted TBSS isn't much better...

TBSS Values are low right now... I had a 618whp 653wtq TBSS and it was sick to say the least. I loved it! such a beast. But stock for stock id go srt8 jeep. modded TBSS. eithier one you will be very happy with!

I never thought I'd see someone cross shop a Corvette and Grand Cherokee SRT8! I drive a C6 (plus have an old GMC pickup for bad weather) and my wife drives a '07 Grand Cherokee... but it's a regular V6. I have never driven the SRT8 version and I realize that it's a completely different experience, but there is nothing you could do to my wife's Jeep that would make me want it over my Vette. Consider getting a Vette for fun AND a 4wd vehicle for practicality and bad weather use. That SRT8 will be somewhat fun, but it will always be big, heavy, and tall.... not a sports car by any sense of the term.

Yes, I paid $37k out the door and I can still sell it for a few grand less according to your Manheim $33200 wholesaler price. Mine has 6k on the clock, so I stand by my statement.

The dealer was going out of business and they had two on the lot. Mine was a demo (manager driven) with 800 miles on the clock when I purchased it.

Well both are big V8 power, one is just an SUV which I wouldn't mind. When I test drove the C6 the interior room wasn't my favorite, but obviously the Vette is a totally different cars aside from power. Tough call.

The power will feel totally different as well because you're got two engines with very similar outputs pulling vehicles with more than a 1000 lb weight difference.
