Default oil question on DD Impala

hey everybody, I have an 09 impala that I have changed oil in twice. I have always used trop artic synthetic blend 5w30 and changing every 3 thousand miles. I am thinking about changing to a synthetic oil? Mobil one or Amsoil? I have heard from alot of people if you changed to a synthetic oil after using non synthetic that your seals will leak. Should I be worried about that? Also should the filter be changed before the oil if you had 7500 miles on the oil? thanks guys

NO ! You can switch to any synthetic 5W-30 and your set. But I wouldn't change a synthetic every 3000 miles. I'd go 5 or 6 thousand miles before changing a synthetic. Heck you could go 10K before changing it. I use Mobil-1 in my 2003 and I only change it once a year, But then I don't put a lot of miles on a car anymore. But your seals on a 2009 are worn to cause a leakage problem.

Many oil filters can last 7500 miles. I use K&N oil filters and change my oil every year (5000-5500 miles). Use a good-quality filter and then change it when you change the oil, but be forewarned that while the car is under warranty, you should follow the manufacturer's recommended intervals, just in case anything related to the engine should happen. save your receipts and keep records.
