historic Hemi Opel Gasser with Liberty trans
$29,500.00
Historic Car and trailer...Jim Zakia McGard Opel project.
We’ve discovered we have too many projects and not enough time, so some lucky person out there is going to get a deal. Excellent project to restore with history or Pro street.
This project includes the chassis, motor and transmission, and fiberglass front end, all original from the car. We also are offering with this, the original trailer Jim used and another Opel that you can have with this so you can back-half it for the body.
Jimmy freshened up the motor for us and it is in perfect condition.
Now, about that motor. It’s a late 426 Chrysler block Hemi, .030 over, engine is 432ci. Crank shaft company forged crank, new Bill Miller Alum rods, J&E Pistons, New Crane Cam shaft, R296 roller, Donovan gear drive, Weaver dry sump, Dual plug aluminum heads with Manley titanium valves (new), Heads were ported by Hemi guru Ted Spahr, intake manifold was Dart tunnel ram done by pro-stock Hemi John Hagan, and it works great, with a pair of Pro-Systems dominator carbs. MSD ignition with Crank trigger, Power valve springs (new) Titanium retainers, 1.7 rocker arms, McCleod low pressure adjustable clutch and fly-wheel. Lakewood bell housing, with a fresh Liberty clutchless 4-spd. Ford 9-in with 4-link. The engine alone is worth the price, but you’ll get the whole historic project for this!
Also comes with polished super tricks and all parts that we got with the car (too numerous to mention here).
Jimmy built this car in 1972 and raced it in Gas and Altered classes for many years. The car won it’s class at Indy plus held class record. Car and driver had a winning history. 2004 the car rolled at Cayuga while testing, this is when Jimmy decided to build himself a 200 mph car.
Trades possibly may be considered.
