Before getting into Corvettes, BMW motorcycles were my passion.

This pic shows one of the Beemers I had.

Mistakenly, 200 of these were shipped to the USA, instead of Belgium.
At the time, Butler & Smith, was the US distributor and decided on selling the bikes stateside. Was very fortunate to find one and bought it.......wish I never sold it.

It was unique to other RS model Beemers in that it had:

* kick & electric start. BMW dropped the kick start on all other models that year.

*factory installed oil cooler.

*5 extra HP.

* 4-way flashers (new at the time)

* factory installed saddle bag mounting brackets

* unique red paint (un-available on standard RS models that year).

* front fender brace

I feel your pain. I sold my 1988 R100RT so my wife could go to Europe with our daughter.

I loved that bike and miss it very much. It was not as mint as yours, but was in very good condition.
