This IS a Joke right? I have read the posts a few times and everyone is really being good at playing along. I mean trading a Z06 for a fricking VOLVO! and actually admitting it on a Corvette forum? I am rapidly approaching social security, but this is hilarious even to an old fart like me! Being a biker I have a Volvo tee shirt and other bikers get the humor but some auto folks don't (hint: Volvo drivers are the most incompetent and dangerous drivers on the road, and if you ride a motorcycle you know that first hand, yah yah, dey are safe cars). If this IS NOT a joke, then modest apology and, um, enjoy your golden years or something like that...........

Not quite getting what would make Volvo drivers incompetent and dangerous? How are Volvo drivers different from general public?

Modern Volvos are no different than any other modern car...drivers of Volvos are probably just like drivers of Audis.
And although I agree that the old Volvos were ugly boxes on wheels, the new ones arn't half bad.
S40 (slightly modded):

SC90 concept:

And the new Noble M600 is Volvo powered, with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8!

Pretty much common knowledge and a running joke in the motorcycle community. Be interesting to see what the Chinese do with the brand now that they have bought Volvo.
”The connotation that if it's a Volvo, it's gonna get in your way and negatively impact your safety is so strong that the company is actively working to dispel the stigma associated with their cars.”
