I know most of you have seen this, but 2.9 seconds 0-60 is just incredible. Source...MT's most recent issue.
...just saying.

That's some serious acceleration for 4 wheels. Especially when you figure that's a number you would see for a top tier 1000cc sport bike - moving ~400lbs. with 180hp.

The Germans realize that the secret to getting power to the ground is AWD. Add some big tires and you can put A LOT of power down. ...just get the extended transmission warranty in a Porsche AWD or Audi Quattro.

is that what they claim, or it has been validated?not so much the transmission and much as suspension, transmission and computer programming, very complex set up to achieve that.

It's ok. Yea the numbers are impressive but without AWD, do you think it could accomplish the same thing? No, it couldn't.
I think AWD is taking the easy way out when it comes to sports cars.

C&D ran it against the ZR1 in the April issue. 2.9 zero to 60 and 11 flat 1/4 mile. The ZR1 won the road course but I'm not sure how.

I guess. But to spend money on something that has to grow on you? Not for me. I would never date a woman that had to grow on me. I'm certainly not going to spend that type of cash on a car that has to grow on me.

+1 on the Cayman. Every time I see one, I like it more. I wish they would put some power in the cayman. Maybe the new NA 3.8L out of the GT3. That would be one of the best sports cars out there. I would also take the 997 TT motor.

For sure. The engine is in the right place on the Boxster and Cayman. But it will probably not happen because of the 911.

The Porsche's AWD is not the main reason for the good 0-XXX times. The car's dynamic weight distribution, launch control, and PTM (traction management) are the majority contributors.
