Battle of the Supercars - ZR1 vs Viper SRT-10

But bottom line is DC performance hold several dyno day's a year, each one has had at least 1 zr1, and many gen iv vipers.
So while we can argue back and forth about the fantasy island dyno locations you are referring to I can assure you same day, same dyno, minutes apart is about as accurate as you are going to get when you want back to back comparisons. The zr1 makes more power, you don't have to like it you just have to get over it.

OK...I am going to say this again if anyone will listen. For 2010 the Viper has different 5th and 6th gears. That is why is took the record at willow. If the 2010 ACR were to run at the Ring...it would be even faster. If they were comparing new 2010 to 2010 then the Viper would have taken the Vette.
I own all three. 08 Viper, 08 Viper ACR, and 10 ZR1. ZR1 is great on the street, but it would be the first to leave the garage if I had to get rid of one. The Vipers just fit the supercar look and with the right mods the ZR1 cannot keep up on the track...they will heat soak and never catch-up.
Why do I have the ZR1 because itis an awesome everyday car. I can park it and not worry about it...that is not the case with the Vipers. They drawn way more attention. I am not saying the ZR1 doesn't drawn plenty of attention.

[QUOTE=racerns;1575035795]Why is that? I believe we are still talking about the silly TV show right? For that show, the only event that 5th gear would come into play would be the standing mile. The only reason that the mile was close in the first place was driver. An even launch and it would not have been close. Sure lets redo the show with 2010 vs 2010 but this time let Paul drive the ZR1 and Tanner the Viper and see what the results are. I bet the Viper would not win a single event, but that would not make good TV.[/QUOTE
Point being....They are so close the best driver wins. There was so much dirt on that airfield I am amazed they weren't just sliding off the course.

If you have the show on DVR or watch it again then record it and play it back and you will see what I found. First off in the race to 100 to stop the z pulls way ahead of the viper off the line. But when they go to the mile run the viper mysteriously jumps way ahead?? Then the real BS begins, watch the end very carefully. First off Tanner in the ZR1 runs a 50 sec. lap and Paul (viper) run 50.8. Nearly a full second on a short track!
Then you watch the race and the z pulls ahead at first but then coming out of the chicane mysteriously moves the left and slows down leaving the "line" open for Paul. Then in the final turn you see them neck and neck and they both come out of the turn smoothly staying well within the cones and Paul wins. Then they show the replay after the race and you see the viper in the final corner sliding into the final corner and right as he is about the smash the cones they cut away. THERE WAS MORE THAN ONE RACE, IT WAS STAGED! I wrote to speed tv and they never replied. The whole thing was staged to make them look even, the ZR1 is FAR SUPERIOR and yes I have driven a viper.

Yes, it was fake... the show is a fraud and the false results clearly prove that the GTR (or insert whatever your fav car is) is FAR SUPERIOR to the ZR1 & SRT-10!!

I love these "Viper owner insecurity" threads. All someone has to do is post something where the Viper is not hailed as being the be all end all of cars ever made, and watch the butthurt screaming start.
I have seen it on the blower Mustang boards, the Ford GT boards, P-car boards. It's really kind of sad. I mean what was the worst thing a person said about the Viper in this thread, that it wasn't as comfortable and as good a daily driver as the basically same speed ZR1? Cue 6 pages of crying about the 'disrespect' of the Viper because someone inferred it wasn't the bestest all around car that has ever or will ever be built.
It's a nice car, not the best, not the worst. Just like a ZR1. The difference in any of these cars will be the driver so really, what difference does it make?
On the other hand, at least it's not another thread on price/availability of the ZR1 which seem to about half of them here.

keep in mind that those arent are fastest of the fastest guys..those are just the guy that went to the strip and reported back to the viper clubs. As youi can see hardly anyone takes their vipers to the drag strip..
alos keep in mind that even though we only have 11 people who went to the drag strip and reported their results for the gen4's...6 of those 11 are 129 mph trap speeds or better..
In comparison a C6Z06 has never had anyone hit 129 mph on the stock car and also on stock factory tires. 128 is the record...
2008 Viper is considerably faster as far as trapp speed..
3 mph differance between the C6Z06 and 2008 viper any way youi want to slice it.
no differant than how the c5z06 could hit 117 mph and the gts could hit 120 mph

Your doing too much reading on the internet and believing everything you see.
There are special dyno's all over the world, so you can believe which ever one makes you feel better. But bottom line is DC performance hold several dyno day's a year, each one has had at least 1 zr1, and many gen iv vipers. On the same dyno Gen 3's make 420rwhp, and Gen 2's make 400-410.
So while we can argue back and forth about the fantasy island dyno locations you are referring to I can assure you same day, same dyno, minutes apart is about as accurate as you are going to get when you want back to back comparisons. The zr1 makes more power, you don't have to like it you just have to get over it.

Look here Mr. DC performance is the only dyno that counts..LOL..
I owned a 99 rt10 viper before i ever got my srt10 viper..
Same dynojet SAE corrected..
99 viper 410 rwhp
2003 Viper 445 rwhp
Please man..You gotta be kidding me
My 2003 srt10 is at 476 rwhp sae corrected with just intake/exhaust/light weight flywheel/under drive pulley/sct tune/roller rockers
heres the vid of the 476 rwhp pull
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ul9dE-wfd4
Ive seen same day comparos were the the viper made more and visa versa
They arevwithin 5-10 rwhp of eachother. Do you have any idea how close that is???

As you can see I love keeping data and makeing list. Here is a list I made of stock 2003-2006 Viper dynoes. 100% stock...your 420 rwhp estimate as you can see is on the low low lowww side
They are in the order that I found them on Viper alley and then VCA......

Thats a 40 rwhp differance...Im sure it's mostly dyno to dyno..But Id also have to think that the HUGE 505 ci V10 has a lot to do with it...

You guys need to stop looking at GZ06s (Garrett O) stable.
I looked at his old MTI X1 C5 along time ago, and I ended up spending 50k in mods
GZ06 stables are a drain on a checking acct :lmao:
