Squirrel/mice repellant
Does anyone know of a good product I could safely put into an engine compartment to deter squirrels/mice? My wife's Jaguar has had to sit outside lately due to lack of garage space. We normally use the car at least once a week but due to hauling needs and weather, it sat longer. I went to use it today and it was running crappy. I popped the hood and found a nest and one of my fuel injector wires eaten through.
I was able to repair the wiring and I eliminated all traces of the nest. Since the car may end up sitting again, I need to find a deterrent. I do not care if it's safe to the squirrel. I just want something safe to the car.
Thanks.

Safety Car
Sorry I just couldn't resist.
I had the same problem when my old corvette was parked outdoors, I just made sure I looked once and a while and disturbed the nest.
I guess you can try putting some decon in the area

My cats stay indoors and all the neighbour's cat can do is leave paw prints on the car. I'll be using the car all week so hopefully they'll move on.

From my experience mothballs do nothing. Mice really did a number on my old truck, big time. They ate through the gas lines, computer wires. They even managed getting into the interior through the heater vents. It cost me thousands in repairs. My only advice is start using the vehicle, do not let it sit.

I found the offending critter a few days after posting this. It was a rat not a squirrel. I found the little SOB in the engine compartment of my DD trying to build a nest on the intake manifold. It managed to escape before I could skewer his azz.
Surprisingly the moth ***** have been working or the neighbour's cat scored a hit. I also eliminated their food supply by cutting down the bushes they were getting the berries from.
So far no trace of any rodent activity in either car.
