Default Sold my Z06 :( but bought an XLR :) pics inside

Hi I just sold my 2003 Black Z06 with Red/Black int. Had lots of fun with it in the last year that I owned it, took it to the circuit track and a few road trips with it, it served me well.

I just Pulled the Trigger on a Black 2005 cadillac XLR with shale interior and only 19k miles.

My Black 2003 Z06 with 65k miles SOLD:

Payed $5k more than what I sold my vette for and bought this:

Nice choice....I'd take the XLR over the C5Z as well.

Some of you are harsh lol.

I prefer the styling of the XLR over the C5 any day of the week. It simply looks like nothing else on the road. They are beasts of a car, despite being strangly over priced from the factory. I would love to own onw some day, and you can pick some of them up for prices that won't break the bank.

I can't say I would have swapped a C5Z for an XLR, BUT I do think the XLR is a cool *** car. Good Luck with the new ride.

I like vets, but you see then everywhere. The XLR you may see one now and then.

Right on! I think most would agree they were over-priced new but it sounds like on the used market the price has normalized some. Congrats.

It seems pretty simple, whether or not he wanted to "show his C5 brethren" it is not a C5 (despite sharing the chassis, suspension, etc.) which makes it an "other car" so they moved it to "other cars." Not that odd.

Better be careful about the roof. Caddy never figured out how to make it reliable and repairs can be very costly

But it has less power, less handling and more problems. In other words it was a very difficult car to sell.

they stopped making them

from a vette to a xlr, i don't think i'd be tempted. you should have gotten an excellent deal i would think.

the car was another attempt(allante)at this type of car.
surprisingly, but as usual, gm pulled the plug too soon. if they gave it
cts-v power plus and a dazzling interior,i think the car would have been a wow cadillac to show up at the exclusive country club.

I have a cousin w/ an '04(I think) and it has been in the shop a lot. I tried talking to her once about it but she is not an afficianado so it was a waste of time, mostly oooohh, pretty ......kinda stuff. That made me think that some of the problems with her XLR might be related to her lack of "care-ing" for the car.

OP, I would ask you to keep us up-to-date on how you are enjoying the XLR. I'm hoping yours is a good one.
