Default 2013 Vossen Project GS "Something Wicked this Way Comes"

Hey everyone wanted to share our latest Vossen Project the 2013 GS which joins our Vossen Project CLS 63. We purchased it February 4th at Pembroke Pines and have nothing but good things to say about them and our sales lady Tara. The new GS really attracted us with the new aggressive front end, the incredible interior, huge NAV screen and the new handling and driving experience. We also are familiar with the huge Lexus enthusiast market and how tuners offer parts for the GS every generation. We could not wait to get our hands on one to give you our interpretation!

Here the GS is going home for the first time

Here we are test fitting the GS Stock offsets are higher but we see no issues fitting similar size wheels/tires as the last two generations of GS models.

A couple of weeks later we played around with the start up screen (it has an industry leading 12.3" screen) and added some Vossen pics. You might like one in particular

Last weekend on April 8th we debuted the Vossen Project GS at a large meet in Orlando
VERY EXCITED TO WRITE THIS UP!!!

Well everyone we have tried so hard to source springs/coils anything suspension wise for the GS since day one. We want usage of the trunk so "bags" were not an option. Big thanks to my buds at VIP Auto Salon and the team at L-tuned Parts for trying their best and even our Japan Vossen Distributor Modera Japan. Seems even in Japan the TRD springs are impossible to get and the price while not an issue is really high for just springs and maybe a 1" drop. I hope things pick up fast and in a hurry in regards so suspension parts as there is a market for them. I contacted Tanabe and RS-R with no response.

We wanted to debut the GS at the big V2 labs meet in Orlando (nice meeting so many members here this weekend old and new!) so we cut the springs about 2 inches last week. It is not the ideal situation but the 2013 GS is BEGGING for a drop and larger wheels and I think with these preview pics you will see what I mean.

Personally I wasn't really in love with the exterior styling which I have shared a few times. That all changed seeing this incredible car lowered with our 20" Vossen Wheels. Yes lowering a car and adding larger wheels always helps but it REALLY helps lower that mean looking front end and gives the car just an incredible classy yet sporty look. Somehow Lexus nailed merging the new "Spindle" front end with a blend of GS/IS/LS cues. As soon as I saw it, I said to myself "okay looks like I want one":woot::woot::woot: Pictures do no justice, in person, especially from the front, with the lowering it looks ultra aggressive but in a very good way.

For now, that are all the mods and the amount of looks and comments the new 2013 Vossen Project GS got were amazing. It didn't matter if we were at the meet with 10,000 people to driving around Orlando's International Dr to going to the gas station, people seemed to just love the car.

These are pictures I took so I broke our own embargo:p as I wanted to share ASAP since people have been asking and asking to see when will we add our wheels. Most of you will notice the bumper piece missing in front. Well someone forgot to put it back in place before we left Miami.

We followed the same theme as my GS 450h, so on the driver's side you will see matte silver machined 20x9 and 20x10.5 CV3s and on the passenger side 20x9 and 20x10.5 CV2s in the limited edition Matte Graphite Finish. There was varying opinion asking around what side they preferred, I would say it was about a 70/30 split in favor of the CV3 looking at feedback. The CV3 side really accents the sporty flavor of the GS and looks literally made for the car. The spokes seem to be the perfect width and the concave rears accents the taillights and fit perfectly. The CV2 side adds a sport flavor, almost "F-sport"-ish since its a matte/dark finish like the F-sport wheels/IS F wheels. You get a gloss lip and a mesh look mixed with the now classic concave look. Its less sporty but no less effective and distinctive in its own right. Tire size is 245/35/20 front and 285/30/20.

See for yourself, we feel you will love how the Vossen Wheels perfectly accent the 2013 GS!!

More to come soon, cough cough, Joe-Z performance parts, cough cough

I tried to capture what I saw but I am by no means a photographer. The last picture is pretty cool since the car looks silver but that is a completely untouched picture. The flash seems to have caught the flakes in the pearl paint. A professional shoot is planned and our head of photography snapped pics so we will share soon. You will also see this GS in a Vossen Video soon!

Enjoy!

I will soon share my driving impressions of our Vossen Project GS lowered and also compare it to my modified GS 450h. I will share the 2013 GS rode much better to me.

Keeping things moving, we added the F-sport front bumper

Next is the Joe Z performance full exhaust and intake. Updates to come soon!

Here are some excellent photos of the JOE-Z Performance GS intake we will be installing shortly as our next step. I have to say the quality is top notch and it is a very beautiful intake.

If you go to our FLICKR page you can see hi-rez pics of the intake.

JDM Fog Covers. The Japanese and Euro GS F-sport has fog lights. The USDM version does not. Hard to get a hold of but its done.

RS*R Coilovers, one of two sets in the USA for the GS

Big thanks to Clark at VIP Auto Salon

Well, at least your cheesy approach is more fitting on gaudy Japanese designs. Not as annoying as when you muck up a nice looking German sedan.

The Hottest 2013 Lexus GS in the Game! Vossen Project GS | CV7's Video

We continue to modify and take things to the next level with our Vossen Project GS and we feel you will approve of the results. We have changed out the Silver Machined CV4's for a sportier flavor in the Silver Polish CV7. Sizes are the same 20x9 and 20x10.5. We then added rare JDM fog lamps and a set off new RS*R coil-overs for to maximize suspension settings. . Finally a Joe-Z Performance intake tube painted custom "Vossen red" was added. Overall we feel we have given this new Lexus a more aggressive and finished look adding sport while maintaining the luxury of the vehicle. Enjoy!
