I still have my original 1988 GT I ordered from factory 24 years ago.
$60K is too much for a Mustang for me besides I have had enough of that solid live rear axle ride. If I had that kind of money to spend I would go for the Dodge Challenger SRT-8 the comfortable riding adult muscle car.

Used zr1 for 75k? Where ? I'll take one

Mustangs are for girls and boys in my opinion. I don't care what model it is or what kinda horsepower it's making. Its still a stang on the outside. The Vette is simply in a different class.

You better check again. There are tracks where the GT500 will beat the ZL1...heck, one test it DOES post a faster track time for 1 lap. Its fastest lasp was about a full second ahead. The ZL1 kept the same pace where the Mustang did not. However, it was the only test where the GT500 had any type of brake fade.

The F4 is the flying pig as I recall and get a base Vette and put a Maggie or other blower and you will be well ahead of a Stang in my book

Sell it. lol
It's my daily driver.
That Thought has crossed my mind because I can no longer take the ride of the car on these roads we have here in state of disrepair. Car has factory suspension no mods so this is the way the car is but since I got older I am tired of getting beat up while driving.
I would never get what it's worth and the $$ money received from sale It wouldn't get me anything or make a decent down payment on a Dodge Challenger.
The body, interior and engine are all clean and car is in great condition. You don't see that many of these in this clean conditon if you see these cars at all on the road factory stock condition and not wrecked or chopped up into a custom car.
I do get lots of compliments from people when at gas station.

True what's the saying, "It's cheaper to keep her"
I could get more than my moneys worth if I keep it but it hurts me to drive it.

If it hurts you to drive it you should get rid of it. I am going to have my back and knee checked out because I cant stand it anymore.

The Mustang in general is a nice car. However, even if it has 1000hp+, it is still only a Mustang. To pay over 60k for one...urrgh I wouldn't personally.

My wife has an '08 Roush 427R I bought brand new for $33K. I'll put it up against anyone's factory equipped Vette they brought brand new for $33K. ;-) Just sayin'.

Straight handling, I'd take my 944 Turbo over anything else in MY stable.

So, Ford is making a Mustang called the GT 500? Ahhh...that'll never sell.

I'm a retired boom operator, my first 3 years was in the KC-135A model. We just injected water into the engine to make the pig fly. After that I spent 17 years in the Vette (KC-10A)

But that's not from the car the pain is from within your body.

Your number 3 statement is a wee bit misleading. All 3 magazines picked the Camaro as overall car they like best. The subjective ratings in the Road & Track, the Camaro scored higher.

Overall the Shelby took the point standing win, anything misleading about that?

BTW, the boys at Evolution have pushed their Shelby to the breaking point! After 121 1/4 mile passes, and 39 dyno pulls, they had the car with a 3.6LC Kenne Bell supercharger posted a 9.60 @ 149+ at ATCO Wd. but finally took out a STOCK rod. Dyno number wasn't revealed but was rumored to be in the 4 digit zone at the RW! More as available, or Check out the October 2012 Issue of 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords Magazine on Newsstands now, for their 9 second quest, for a stock block Mustang.....NO NO2!!!!

Their FIRST 9 second pass....

Well, the GT500 is 2-1-1 head to head against the Camaro ZL1 on road courses in the major mags. And the ZL1 won head to head against a Grand Sport.

The days of Mustangs (and Camaro's) being straight line only are over. At least in their premier editions.

Apparently few here remember the days the Saleen and Roush Mustangs were blowing the doors off the Corvettes on ALL the major road race courses, they concentrate on it again, and they will do the same thing! Government motors is NOT GENERAL MOTORS!

Anyone seen a new VIPER?.......LOLOLOL!!!

Awesome car but a local dealer want a 20K markup. An 85K mustang? No thanks.
