I just wanted to introduce myself and learn as much as I can before I eventually pick up my own.

As of right now, I drive a 2012 Mustang 5.0L. I'll post a couple pictures of the car and a mods list I have and if anyone has any questions about the Mustang I'd be happy to answer them. I'm looking forward to hearing all the pros/cons from the owners themselves!

My old 1988 5.0 Mustang GT has proven itself and is a very durable car.
I drove the new 5.0 Mustang GT and wow! What a rev. That car is a screamer with that new 5.0 engine.
Hope the new 5.0 Mustangs prove to be as durable as the old ones as they cost 2 to 3 times the price.

[QUOTE=Lethal302;1581653230]... I also use the Mustang as my DD and even drove it this past winter in the snow once or twice (wasn't all that bad actually). I just couldn't bring myself to drive a corvette in the snow and had to factor in the cost of a second beater car for the bad weather days also.....

I use my 07 Covertable as my DD because I can't see using my 11 GT500 in bad weather. I'm getting Michelin PS2 All season tires for the Vette. I won't take it in heavy snow but it will do fine in cold weather and light snow. Those Goodyears (both on the Vette and Shelby) suck in cold weather! Anything worse I'll take my wife's Mazda! Welcome to the forum and thanks for the picks...your Mustang is way cool!

I wish! I live on Long Island and the closest 1/4 mile strip is in NJ (atleast a 2 hour drive). I've still yet to take it to the track but I'd love to one day. According to others with the same mods as me it should be a high 12 second car, assuming I'm as good at driving as the others that have posted their slips

I don't think I'm worried too much about handling the car in the snow, I'd just feel bad putting such a beautiful car through that weather lol

Nasty looking 5.0! Been wanting one ever since they came out. My last Stang was a 03 Cobra. That car was a blast!

Currently have a 09 Z06 and an 01 C5. The Z06 is a beast! My C5 is my daily cruiser. Very comfortable and gets great gas milage too. If you want a C5 that is comparable to your Mustang in performance get a 04 Z06. Top doesn't come out so keep that in mind if that's one of your requirements.

The 05+ base is supposed to be faster than the 04Z06 right? I like the exterior of the c5 but the interior just looks dated to me. I'd really like to get into an 08+ c6 but if I could find a c6 z06 with <40k miles and <$40k and no accidents that would be perfect...but definitely a tough find. Thanks for the compliment though! Its definitely a fun car

An 08 C6 is faster than the C5 Z06 and the interior is much better. The LS3 responds to mods really well plus the top is removable which is one of the best features.

Thanks for the info. I definitely prefer a removeable top, although if it were a C6 Z06 I could definitely deal with a permanent hardtop. If the LS3 is that much more responsive to mods than an LS2 I'd definitely be swayed to stick with an 08+ because I do plan on modding it
