Default No More Boxster... "new" Porsche in the garage.

I now own two C4's - one by Corvette, the other by Porsche.

It's a 1999 Carrera 4, six speed manual, about 300 HP, AWD, 49K miles.

The second owner had the GT3 Aero kit installed by Porsche, as well as the enormous 19" wheels.

It's incredibly clean for a 13-year-old car (as you'd suspect since it's got less than 50K on the clock). None of the panels have ever even been resprayed.

I'll eventually try to get a decent sound clip - the sport exhaust makes an amazing sound.

I met a guy who had the same car. He went to the 19 inch wheels tires, which lated all of 6 months before he went back to the OEM size. He told me his kidneys couldn't take the punishment any more. Really, that size will detract from, not improve the performance of the car.

Other than those things, the car looks great.

Added a photo of the Carrera in my driveway. I grin like a moron every time I see it.

I own a 2002 and love it. Great car. I have over 90k miles on mine and no IMS problmes. I keep an eye out for an oil leak but so far so good.

The 3.6l cars were much less prone to IMS failures than then 3.4l cars.

That's good news. Between the IMS on the porsche and valve problems on my C6Z you just knever know when I might be buying a motor.

I think rumor goes that IMS mainly fails when you don't drive your car hard/frequently enough. I have a friend who owned a 99 C2 since new. It has over 200K on it and the engine is like new.
