1. Ck engine lite on
2. Mech meter reads MAF. Mech puts lite out.
3. Approx 2 weeks, lite back on. Assume MAF
4. Today, back to mech. We can try spray it. He's busy.
5. Back into the car for a later day to spray.
6. Light is out. Ck engine.
7. Drove home Light still out.

8. Question. Do it need cleaned/sprayed? OR ????

Does the car run fine or just the CEL comes on? 3.4L or 3.8L? If the car idles funny, unplug the MAF and see how it runs. If it runs better, then the MAF is your problem

Frank. Thanks for the reply.
3.8 Light has not been on since I wrote. Runs fine.
Light on was the only issue until he reset it.

Also have a 4 cyl 1988 cutlass. Do not touch the throttle when starting it. Usually it runs ok doing so.
Today I started it and with no time to warm up it stalled several times before it kept running.
Has been this way for quite a long time. Wife claims, her car, she has no issue with it. Fuel pump replaced along with plughs and wires.
Should this issue show on the hand held scope? under dash I assume is where it is.l
