Cadillac's v6 twin turbo (Might Explain C7 Dual-Boost Gauges)
It was said the PSI Gauges was implemented on the C7 to test the gauges that will be implemented on other GM cars. Seems one of them will be the new Cadillac CTS V6 TwinTurbo, as you can see the pictures below.
FROM CARSCOOP http://www.carscoops.com/2013/03/off...-cts-gets.html
We suspected that the all-new 2014 Cadillac CTS sedan would be one of the five world premieres GM is preparing to bring to the New York Auto Show next week, and now it's official.
While the Detroit carmaker is holding back on the pictures, it confirmed details on the engine lineup, which is highlighted by a brand-new 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6 gasoline unit paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission – both a first for the brand.
“The new Cadillac Twin-Turbo brings a new dimension of technologically advanced performance to the all-new 2014 Cadillac CTS sedan,” said David Leone, executive chief engineer. “Delivering power and sophistication, it marks another large step forward in the product-driven expansion of Cadillac.”
The new unit, which makes use of two-small turbochargers rather than a single, larger turbo, is rated at an SAE-certified 420 horsepower (426PS /313kW) and 430 lb.-ft. of torque (583 Nm), making it the most powerful V6 ever from General Motors.
It produces 118 horsepower per liter (88 kW/liter), which GM says is a better power density figure than the BMW 535i's 300hp turbocharged 3.0L six (100hp or 74kW / liter) and the 550i's 400hp twin-turbo 4.4L V8 (91hp or 68kW/liter).
With this engine, which is based on GM's naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6, and the new 8-speed automatic driving the rear wheels, the 2014 Cadillac CTS can reach 60 mph (96km/h) from a standstill in an estimated 4.6 seconds and top out at 170 mph (274km/h).
At launch, the 2014 CTS will also feature the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 rated at 321 horsepower, as well as a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering an estimated 272 horsepower, both of which can be equipped with AWD as an option.
With the V6 Twin-Turbo and a rear-wheel drive (RWD) setup, the 2014 CTS returns an estimated fuel economy of 17mpg city and 25mpg hwy (highway), while the 2.0-liter Turbo manages 19mpg city and 30mpg hwy with RWD, and 18mpg city and 28mpg hwy when opted with AWD, and the 3.6-liter unit, 19mpg and 28mpg with RWD, and 18mpg and 27mpg with AWD respectively.

That is a wicked engine but I pray it never makes it to a Corvette engine bay.

No AWD option for the 3.6 Turbo = FAIL
No Dual Clutch transmission = FAIL
Another GM failure.
Why am I fan of a company who makes so many stupid decisions ????
I'd rather have a LT1.

Yes. I absolutely feel the next CTS-V will be a failure if it does not offer the OPTION of AWD.
Every world class performance sedan should have the OPTION of AWD in 2013.
The Panamera Turbo is the greatest performance sedan on the planet and it has AWD.
The E63 might dethrone it soon, and it has AWD now as well.
The nautually aspirated 3.6 WAS the previous "sport model", and it offered AWD.
Now, GM gets a decent engine to power the sport model, and they won't offer AWD ???
GM needs to get their head out of their ***.
Your insinuation that "performance models" should be RWD only makes me laugh.
I guess you never heard of the Nissan GTR or Bugatti Veyron. SMFH

Couldn't agree more, most cars I see (their competitors) are xdrive, A6, and 4matic...
I know so many people that won't look at this because there is no AWD... the No AWD is a huge fail.
The 550xi and the e550 4matic have it, along with the new A6 that is turbo'd.... huge letdown... I don't care about the trans if its FAST... but no awd is going to hurt sales.

Cadillac keeps trying to be a BMW. Well I will just keep buying the real thing.
I don't want a wantabe car. They can have a 1,000 hp per liter, I will buy the
BMW
AWD what is the big deal. Majority drive around town, get on the interstate
set the cruise. If weather is that bad stay home. Yankees need to get a tractor
not a car to get around I guess.

I've been through the same "discussion" with AWD people for yrs. Their side usually goes- awd will always beat rwd, rwd is only good in a straight line blah blah. Their favorite cars are evos , sti's and their ultimate ride is the GTR even though 90 % of them have never driven one. RWD is only good in straight line performance they say.
