Good used Truck, Under 14K
Time has come that I really want and kind of need a full size truck. I need a tow vehicle for my C5, as well as the ability to haul mulch, stone, plywood, sheetrock etc as we always have a million projects going on. I've done the SUV with a trailer and I cannot stand loading up a landscape trailer plus I'm going to be buying a trailer to tow the C5 on and don't want 2 trailers sitting in the yard.
Max budget is about $14K. I'm not brand loyal for trucks, just want something dependable, and can tow/haul a fair amount. The midsize trucks will be just a little to small though I do like the Tacoma's quite a bit.
Also has to be able to seat 5.
I'm looking at Fords F150/F250, Dodge 1500/2500, Chevy/GMC, Nissan Titan's, Toyota Tundra. Just not sure which one will have the least amount of issues as I'd rather put the funds and time into my C5 or my wife's STI.

I did a search my your location on craigslist.
http://allentown.craigslist.org/cto/3674801235.html That looks like a great truck to me. Single owner history is huge to me.
http://delaware.craigslist.org/ctd/3667822411.html a little higher miles, but check the history and could be a great buy as well.
I am a huge Duramax GM fan. I currently have 2 of them, one with 175k miles and one with 147k miles. Both extremely well maintained and am the second owner of both. They are great trucks, and soon I will be buying my third in addition to the other 2.

Damn, just sold the perfect truck for you. 2006 Honda Ridgeline RTS 3/4 ton for $11.500.00. The Ridgeline easily towed my #4500 boat.
Had the Ridgeline since 2005 put 105,000 miles on it and never put a dime into it. Truck does not look huge yet 4' X 8' plywood/drywall lie flat in bed.The Ridgeline has ton's of features not found on other trucks, like standard AWD, huge trunk under the bed. Damn I miss that truck, if you find one buy it.

I went out today to test drive a few trucks. One dealer had a GMC Denali 1500, a 2007 Ram 1500, a 2004 Titan and a 2005 Frontier. The frontier was just a little to small IMO. Even though the bed is really not that much smaller than the Titan's in length the truck was just not really for me. A few friends have htem and love them. We took out the Titan and I really liked that truck. Good color combo, crew cab and every option I wanted. But it was a little beat up for the price and a few issues, mainly with the heater. Between the trade in amount and how much they were asking we were 2K apart and i didn't want to budge. Oh well, it was a beautiful truck. Did find an Armada though at another dealer and might take it out. I want a truck but the Armada's have the same towing capacity and can fit 7. With 3 kids I'll miss having the ability to take more than just the 5 of us out, plus the dogs etc.
I liked the Ram 1500 as well but it had the 4.7L and I'd much rather have the hemi. They get about the same fuel mileage so why not get the stronger engine.
Tomorrow I'm checking out a Ram 1500 with the hemi, and a few others.
Whats the Ridgeline's towing capacity?
And I've bumped my max budget up to 14K.

Just one word of advice. Ram trucks are a good deal when new ($7.000 rebates) only because they are so damn cheap and have a decent warranty. But as a used truck be carefull, everyone I know that drives Ram trucks start having all kinds of problems starting around 60k miles.

Thanks Bill, but looking for one with 4wd. To much snow up here for 2wd plus we do a few trips to a buddies hunting cabin in the snow every year and for surf fishing down at the Jersey shore.

There are varieties of options of trucks available in the market and if you buy a used one than it become so difficult to choose, especially to get the one in good condition. In that case we can trust on http://www.autopartsfair.com/info.html as my husband is a truck driver and has an International. Whenever he needs part replacement, he consults with a used auto part dealer, since they are more affordable than new ones and also come with warranty.
