From the Washington Post:
"....At the same time, the 2014 CTS weighs about 200 pounds less than the 2013 BMW 528i (according to Cadillac) at 3,616 pounds--and it's more than 250 pounds lighter than the outgoing model of the CTS.
That lighter weight is distributed evenly front-to-rear, with a 50.1/49.9% weight balance.
A curious factoid: that's a better front-rear weight bias than the 2013 Chevy Corvette Grand Sport's 51/49% distribution."
Pretty hard to believe, but if this is indeed correct... Well done GM.

Time will tell, but I am very curious to know. If my math is not completely broken I would think that is about 8.6lbs/hp (3616/420) which would make it better than the outgoing SRT8 6.4litre models power to weight.

I wonder if that would be the base model weighing in at 3616lbs and the 420hp 3.6 litre tt would be part of another package that weighs much more.

Just one more thing to think about (from another thread):
The weight advantage the CTS has over the 5 series gets better and better as you go up in model.
528i is 200 lb. heavier than the 2.0T powered CTS.
535i is 300 lb. heavier than the 3.6 powered CTS.
550i is 400 lb. heavier than the 3.6TT powered CTS.

I think this looks great, but why does Caddy insist on having a heavy, monolithic center console? The early CTS looked like one of the monoliths from 2001 was plopped into the interior. This version, instead of a flowing center stack, has the biggest border I've ever seen on a dashboard.
The rest of the car combines character with subtle design, and it works. Just seems like some different team was doing the dash.

Good looking car. It's based on the same platform as the ATS, which is getting rave reviews for it's ride & handling. I can definitely see my self upgrading to the eventual CTS-V version from my 2012 CTS-V sedan, which I absolutely love, down the road. The new CTS should sell like hotcakes.

I saw where they called the model with the TT V6 to be a CTSV sport
Maybe the "V" was included by mistake?
I would hope that the LT1 and/or LT4 would be in the V models, although as a DD the TT V6 would be more than sufficient for me

The 3.66TT is not the V engine for the new CTS. They call it the V sport just like Lexus is calling their slightly enhanced sport model the GS350 F Sport. It's not a GS-F like the IS-F. Rumor has it Lexus will stuff an 8 cylinder in their new GS car soon and it will be called GS-F.
Likewise, the new CTS-V will be a forced induction V8, but we don't know yet if it will be turbocharged or supercharged.
The ATS-V however will get a derivative of the 3.6TT with a bit more power likely around 440hp.
I'll also be anxiously awaiting the replacement of my 2012 CTS-V which has been a fabulous car to date.

Looks Germanic. And C pillar back it looks. . . geriatric. Like an old sedan.
Maybe it's just the angle. Hope it looks better in person as I like the CTS.
